PPPR Fall Entertaining Blog Hop

YAY! It's Saturday! That means that it's time for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Fall Entertaining Blog Hop. My fantastic Design Team and I are sharing all sorts of Fall themed projects that would be perfect for decorating a Fall or Thanksgiving get together or dinner. We have a prize up for grabs and a little freebie just for you guys. We'll also be kicking off our next challenge. So, be sure to check out each and every project along the way today...you don't want to miss a THING!

For my project, I decided to repurpose a lollipop holder to create some sweet little place cards. Click on the photo to see it larger.

I used the Turkey Lollipop Holder Cutting Files to create the place cards. They sit up perfectly, so they are great for marking your guests' places at the table. Plus, your guests will get a sweet little treat to take home with them, afterwards. I wanted the little turkeys to look like boys and girls, so I added some hats from the Thanksgiving Wear Cutting Files. And, for the name portion, I used a sign from the Gnomies Cutting Files set. I printed them with names right on the front and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo. I just love the print and cut feature!  Of course, I placed them right by my 3D Pumpkin Gift Box, which I intend to fill with some yummy pre-wrapped treat on Thanksgiving Day (since it IS made of paper...no goopy or sticky stuff is going in there!).  Here are links to all of the files I used for my project:

Of course, I have a fun little freebie just for you guys. This Pilgrim Hat Treat Bag will be available for FREE on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9 ONLY. Then, it will be available for purchase in the PPPR store. You can get this freebie HERE:

Luau Birthday Party Decorations

Happy Saturday, everyone! Can you believe it's already the last day of May? Craziness!!!! My oldest daughter turns 13 tomorrow (YIKES!), and we had a Luau Birthday Party for her a couple of weeks ago (since we've been on vacation this past week). So, I wanted to share with you how I decorated for her party. So, I hope you enjoy the TONS and TONS of photos (believe me, I narrowed it down).

Here's my sweet Madi under the 3D tree I found at a party store:

I created this banner using the Aloha and Simple Banner Shapes Cutting Files, along with the new Luau Basic Patterns Digital Papers:

I have Pinterest (and the Walmart bakery) to thank for the food ideas I put together:

Then, the girls had pizza (Hawaiian was included, of course). Afterwards, they got to create their own sundaes.

And, we couldn't have a Luau without Hawaiian Punch, right? ;)

I created these party favors using the Pineapple Gift Box Cutting Files. I filled them with nail polish, chapstick, Starbursts, and Almond Joys. The girls also got to take home their coconut cups, grass skirts, and leis.

And, in case you missed it...I created this printable invitation using the Aloha Cutting Files (which include clip art files, also).

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for more PPPR inspiration. :)

Monkey Birthday Party

Last night we had our very first slumber party in the Norris household.   Whew...9 giggling girls!  My hubby and I are EXHAUSTED!  Anyway, my daughter turned 11, and she wanted a monkey-themed birthday party. So, I thought I'd share some of the things I made for her..  First of all, here's the card I made for her.

This is an A2 sized card. I got the cute little monkeys from the Lettering Delights Monkey Around Cut It Set.  The little flag said something Valentine's-y, so I removed that layer, enlarged the flag, and added a sentiment from my Pink by Design Labels Stamp Set.  I added an orange bow (that's my daughter's favorite color), and her card was all done!

I also made invitations for her party.  I decided to go the digital route with them, though, so I could just design them, print them out, and be done.  It turned out to bee a good thing, too, because I had to redo them after they were already given out because of a conflicting school activity on the night we first scheduled the party on.  No problem, though, because I just changed the dates and reprinted.  Much better than re-making hand-made ones.

Anyway, I couldn't find a monkey graphic that I really liked for my daughter's birthday, so I decided to try drawing one in Inkscape.  Well, I did, and I think she came out really cute!  Then, I just created an invitation in Adobe Photoshop Elements, and I had an invitation I could print.  Here's what it looked like (with the personal info blocked out).

Then, I made coordinating treat bag toppers.  I simply imported my little monkey graphic into Silhouette Studio, traced it, and used the print and cut function to cut several of them out.  Then, I created a topper by using this file as a base, using the inset and knife tools to create the orange shape and pink bands, printed and cut the colored parts, and assembled them with adhesive and foam tape.  Then, I added a sentiment from Pink by Design's Big Thoughts Stamp Set.  Here's what they looked like:

Finally I made cupcakes for Madison's party.  I saw some really cute monkey cupcakes on Pinterest, so I decided to try making some of my own.  I made some brown and some orange (my daughter's favorite color).  Madison helped me give them all different expressions.  Here they are:

That's all I made for the party.  We had a lot to do around the house before her guests came (since it was a slumber party)...lots of games to set up and food to cook.   So, I kept my handmade stuff to a minimum.

Well, it's time for me to go take a nap.  We all stayed up WAY too late last night.  I hope the rest of your Sunday is spectacular!  Thanks for stopping by!

CTO Pool Party Blog Hop

Happy Saturday, everyone! Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Pool Party Blog Hop! This hop is hosted by Celebrate the Occasion, so be sure to start the hop there! There are so many great projects in this hop...and I don't want you to miss even one of them! Plus, there's prize up for grabs at CTO and lots of blog candy along the way. Don't miss out!

For this hop, we're all making projects related to the Pool Party theme. Well, this is just right up my ally! If you follow my blog, you probably noticed that I'm on a bit of a party decorations/invitations kick. So, that's what I decided to make for this hop. Here are my projects:
First, I decided to make a Pool Party invitation. These are A2 sized gatefold cards. The card base is an SVG file I found online (sorry, I can't remember where I found it). The file also included the scalloped circle. There are 4 different versions of the invitation.

I got the beach ball and flipflops/sunglasses from Pack Your Bags. The sun is from Create a Critter, and the popsicle is from Doodlecharms. Then, I embossed the front flaps of the card base with my Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The striped band just slides off the invitation to reveal the party information inside. The actual invitation was just made in Microsoft Word.

Well, I couldn't have invitations without some sort of party decorations! So, I decided to make some cupcake toppers and wrappers to match. Here they are:

I got the wrappers from Life's a Party. I think they turned out so cute! I hope you like them. :o)

More Over the Hill Items

Hi, everyone!  I just thought I'd post some projects I worked on recently for a client.  She liked my Over the Hill stuff, but wanted a cake topper instead of cupcake toppers and a banner.  Eeek!  I'd never made a banner before, but I had been dying to give it a try.  So, here are the goods:

Here's the cake topper.  All of these cuts came from Life's a Party.  I added some circles behind "The Big 4-0" so it would show up better.

I can't remember where I got these cuts...the scalloped and rounded squares are from Gypsy Wanderings, maybe?  I think the letters are from Birthday Bash.  I think my little banner turned out cute...and it was a lot of fun to make! :o)  I can't wait to make another one!

I hope you'll stop by again this weekend.  Celebrate the Occasion is hosting a Pool Party Blog Hop.  I hope you'll stop by to see what all of the talented Design Team members have to show you.

28 Candles Blog Hop

Hey, you guys!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far!  Welcome to the 28 Candles Blog Hop!  If you came from Sonia at Scraps 4 Fun, then you're in the right place.  If you just stumbled upon this post and would like to start from the beginning, visit Kimi & Pamela at Lovebug Creations.

This hop is in honor of Kimi's 28th birthday, so we're all creating something birthday related.  A friend of mine recently wanted passport invites for her daughter's upcoming birthday, so I decided to make an example for her to show her what I could do.  She's really into Safari animals and animal prints, so here's what I came up with:

To make these, I first dug out my passport to use as a guide.  I designed a layout for the outside of the passport on my computer and printed it out on craft cardstock.  Then, I embossed it with my Mesh Cuttlebug embossing folder so it would look more like leather.  I knew my friend likes animal prints, so I added a strip to the front.  Then, I cut some African animals for her...the zebra and giraffe are from Create a Critter, the lion is from Life's a Party, and the elephant is from Birthday Bash.

Here's a close up of the embossing...I ran the embossed card back through my Cuttlebug with the flat part of the folder on top of it to flatten it out a bit.  I also rounded the corners since the corners of passports are rounded.

Then, I designed the inside of the invitation to look like the inside of a passport.  I found some passport stamps online, and viola'!  A cute little passport invitation!

Then, I decided to create some cupcake toppers and wrappers to show my friend and also list in my Etsy shop.  The wrappers are from the Life's a Party cartridge and are embossed to match the passport invitations.

Well, I hope you like my little projects!  I'm really excited about how they turned out!

Now, I think it's time for a little BLOG HOP CANDY!!!

For this hop, I'm giving away this great kit that you can use to make an album in a box.  It includes all sorts of pre-cut papers, acetate sheets, rub-ons, and so much more!  There's just so much you could do with this...even if you're not into making an album.

If you'd like the chance to win these goodies, here's what you need to do:
1.  Become a follower and leave a comment letting me know. Or, let me know you're already a follower.    Please don't forget to include your e-mail address.

That's all you have to do to have a chance to win!  But, if you want extra chances, here's what you can do:
