Zoo Pages

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Ruth, here, to share with you a layout I created for a field trip to the zoo.

I figured Lisa's super cute animals (and some other files) would be perfect for the fun 2nd graders in the photos.

Here is my layout:

I used:

Safari Love Cutting Files
School Days Pattern PackIcee Cutting FilesBorders 4 Cutting FilesWinter Critters Cutting Files

Gnomies Cutting FilesFlamingos in Love Cutting FilesSafari Love 2 Cutting Files

A few details I'd like to point out. I couldn't resist making a couple of lines of flamingos on vellum and the little Gnomies bird was perfect since the kids were singing their Africa songs to the animals (I used a sketch pen to draw the notes.) For more pictures of my project, feel free to stop by my blog: Paper and Musings!

Thanks so much for visiting! This would be a great project for the Smarty Pants challenge that's going on. Be sure to check out all the details by using the link in the upper right corner.

Happy crafting!

Bright Idea!

Hi, Ruth here today from Paper and Musings.

School is winding down and I've got a project that we'll be giving as a gift to a teacher.
I decorated the front of a craft covered notebook with Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons die cuts (some with digital papers from the shop, too!)
Here it is:
Don't you just love that face? It's from the Laughing Light Bulb Cutting Files! I think it went very well with the Sunburst Shapes Cutting Files, which worked well with Halloween Flourish Digital paper! The sentiment card is filled with a School Days Chalkboards digital paper pattern. Couldn't resist using the chalkboard design for this teacher gift!

If you want more details about my project, feel free to stop by my blog where I tell more about what I did.

I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
Be sure to play along with our Oh, Snap challenge (click the Monthly Challenges tab at the top of this post.) I'd love to see what you create!

Happy crafting!

Talk about growing up!

Hi, it's Ruth and my project today celebrates how much my son has matured in the last year. I love seeing my children take chances and grow and that's where we're at right now as my son gets ready to leave middle school for high school.
Lisa has some great files for documenting these moments.
Here's my layout:

I used the:
Notebook Pages Cutting Files for my jouraling spot with a pattern from the School Days Pattern Pack filled in and then did print and cut,
Hats Off Cutting Files for the graduation caps, simplified to two layers
and
Old Chap Cutting Files for the glasses since my son's glasses played a big role in the left side photo.

You know what this page would be perfect for? The Anything Goes challenge going on right now! I hope you'll join in using whatever files from Lisa you want and creating whatever you want with them! Details about the challenge are linked through the challenge icon on the upper right of this page!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you want to see more photos or hear more about my page, I'd love for you to stop by my blog: Paper and Musings.
Wishing you happy crafting!

Time for school!

Hello! Ruth, here, and I hope you're having a great day!
Fall is definitely back to school time and with that comes school portraits when you've got kids. My layout today has a realistic portrait, but not necessarily the best. My 13 year old son is satisfied with it, though, so there will be no retakes.

What could be better for scrapping a school picture than the look of  cork? I just love that I can print a full page of cork for a background and even use it to fill a font for my projects.
I'll show you what I mean.
Perfection! A piece of notebook paper attached to a cork board and a cork title, too! And you better believe that you can find them in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store! You know what else you can find?
The texture of the ruler : Pumpkin Spice Out West Patterned Paper
The journaling star : School Titles Cutting Files
The speech bubble : Speech Bubbles Cutting Files
and the school papers are in the School Days Chalkboards and School Days Pattern Pack

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you'd like to see more detailed pictures of my layout, feel free to stop by my blog Paper and Musings.

Be sure to link up your fall projects using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files for the current challenge (follow the link in the side bar on the right.) I can't wait to see what you create!
