A Giga and a Byte and a Giveaway

Happy Monday, everyone!  I'm sitting here at my local public library taking advantage of their wonderful free wireless Internet access so I can share a project with you today.  I can't wait to get access at my new house!!!  I'm going through withdrawals!  Anyway, I have a card that's perfect for that special techno-savy person in your life (who hopefully has Internet access at his house).  Here it is:

This little shape card features two Pink By Design Stamp sets: LOL and Gigabyte.  Don't you just love the sentiment and images?  So cute!

I got the Sweet little computer from the Lettering Delights Programmed for Love SVG set.  I just LOVE her!  Here's a little tip if you're using SVGs or your gypsy...you can weld the shadow layer for an image to a rounded rectangle to create a card base with room for stamping that can easily stand up.  That's how I got my card base.

I added some Stickles and a few doodles, and my little card was all done.  I hope you like it!

Now, in honor of Pink By Design's anniversary, I have an awesome giveaway for you!  I have a $10 gift certificate that I'm giving away to Pink By Design's store.  YAY!  Here's what you need to do to be elligible to win:

WINNER!!!

Well, I feel so out of the loop lately.  No Internet access at my new house yet means no bloggy fun!  So sad.  Thankful that I can piggyback on the public library's WIFI for a while until I get the whole Internet mess worked out at my house.

Because of all of my moving and Internet troubles, I'm just now choosing a winner for the $10 PBD gift certificate.  And....here she is:

Congrats, Lynnette!  I'll get in touch with you soon! :o)

Sew, What's New

Hey, everyone!  Today is my Pink By Design DT day, and I have a card and some firsts to share with you. This card is my FIRST attempt at using a background stamp, my FIRST attempt at using an image stamp, and my FIRST Cricut-less card! Whew! It came together pretty easily, though. That's always a plus, especially since half of my crafty stuff is sitting in boxes right now. :o(

When I started planning this card, I knew I wanted to try to go Cricut-less, and I knew which stamps I wanted to use, but I didn't know where to begin. So, I checked out some sketches I had saved on my computer until I found one I thought would fit the card I wanted to create. Here's the one I chose:

And, here's the card I made:

For this card, I used Pink By Design's Sewing Background Stamp for the yellow background, then I inked up the edges with a little distress ink. The sewing machine came from Pink By Design's Sew Lovely stamp set, and the sentiment came from Pink By Design's Material Girl. I also added a little distress ink to the cardstock I stamped the image on. A scalloped border punch and a few buttons later, and my Cricut-less card was all done! I hope you like it!

Oh, and I have a WONDERFUL surprise!  I have two $10 gift certificates to Pink By Design to give away today!  YAY!  Here's what you need to do to be elligible to win:

Boxes, Boxes, Everywhere!!!

Hey, everyone!  Just another quick note to let you know that I'm still in the process of moving.  We found a much bigger house that's closer to base (which is pretty important since that's where hubby works, the kids go to school, I grocery shop, etc.).  Plus, it has a dishwasher (this, I think, is THE most important detail since I've been without one for quite a while...and I LOATHE doing dishes).  So, I'm surrounded by boxes and can't find anything I need.

The good news is that I get the keys to our new place tomorrow, so I'll be able to start the slow process of moving (since my hubby can't come help until Tuesday).  Hopefully I'll have our office/craft room up pretty quickly so I can get back to creating.  I will say, though, that this move is pushing me to try something I've never done...make a Cricut-less card.  If you'd like to see how it comes out, just check out my post on Monday.  I'm hoping I can pull it off without too many problems. :o)

I also want to say that I think I've been a terrible bloggy friend lately.  I've had a lot of trouble balancing my kids being out of school, my crafty responsibilities, my Etsy shop, my husband's "fake" deployment (he's just 2.5 hours away and can come visit, but it still changes the dynamics of our home) and this move.  I'm hoping that, once we're settled in the new house, I'll be able to go back to doing more of what I love...browsing everyone's awesome blogs, leaving comments, and entering some challenges just for fun (which I haven't done in FOREVER, it seems).  So, please be patient with me.  I feel I've lost that lovin' feelin' when it comes to my crafting lately, and I'm looking to get it back.  Maybe I need to watch some Top Gun to get back in the mood. ;o)

Anyway...I hope you all have a great Friday tomorrow and an even greater weekend!  Miss you guys! :o)

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #21: Christmas in July

Happy Tuesday!  I hope your holiday weekend was WONDERFUL!!!  There's a new challenge up at Celebrate the Occasion.  This week's challenge is to create a Christmas project without using the color red.  Here's what I came up with:

This is an A2 sized card (4.25" x 5.5").  I got the tree from Winter Frolic, but I changed it up a little bit.  I wanted a more fringy-looking tree, so I cut 1" strips of two colors of paper and punched them with my Martha Stewart grass punch.  Next, starting at the bottom of the tree, I layered the punched strips, alternating colors.  Then, I just turned the tree over and trimmed off the excess.  Finally, I added on all of the decorations, Stickled them like crazy, and added a little gem with my iRock.  I really love how the tree turned out! :o)

The sentiment came from Pink By Design's Christmas Wishes Stamp Set, and I got the twine from the Divine Twine Assortment Pack (also from PBD).  By the way, the background paper looks a little red in the photo, but I promise is really just dark pink. :o)

So, I really hope you'll head on over to Celebrate the Occasion to see what the other Design Team members created and join in on the fun yourself.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #67: Pool Time

Happy Challange Me Monday everyone!  I hope you are having a Fantabulous Fourth of July!!! This week's challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is to create a water-themed project.  Here's the little card I came up with:

The base for this 5.75" circlular card came from Wild Card.  I got the cute little sun from Sesame Street Seasons (I drew on the face, though).  The animals all came from Create a Critter, and the floaties came from Pack Your Bags.  I used my Gypsy to make sure I got the sizes of the floaties just right for my little animals.  My sentiment came from Pink By Design's Summer Vacation Stamp Set.

I wanted the animals to look like they were floating in the water, so I snipped off their little legs.  Don't worry...they didn't feel a thing.  Then, I popped up the center of their floaties so they would look rounded.  I added lots of ink, some Diamond Stickles, some brads, and some doodle marks, and my card was all done! I hope you like it. :o)
Now it's your turn!  Head on over to Fantabulous Cricut to see what the other Design Team members created and join in on the challenge yourself.  I can't wait to see what you make!
