Cameo Creations Easter Blog Hop

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Cameo Creations Easter Blog Hop.  We have lots of fun Easter projects to share with you that we made with our Silhouette Cameos.  If you've arrived here from Monica's blog, you're in the right place.  If you've just stumbled upon my post and would like to start from the beginning, head over to Monica's blog.

The sponsor for our hop is Scraptastical Kreations...after hopping, just link up your own Silhouette-created Easter project over at Cameo Creations, and you could win a $30 gift certificate to the SK store!  Plus, I have a little blog candy of my own to offer you at the end of this post.  I decided to create a cute little Easter treat bag for my hop project.  Here it is:

I used this adorable bear in a bowl of jellybeans from the Scraptastical Kreations Beary Sweet Easter set and cut it out with my Cameo.  The base of the topper came from this 6 label set that I found in the Silhouette Online Store.  I created a mirror image of the label and then welded the two shapes together to create the topper for the treat bag.  I also used the internal offset feature in Silhouette Studio to create the patterned paper shape that is on the front of the topper.

Here's a close-up of the topper.  I used my Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face Assortment and a white gel pen for the eyes and my Peachy Keen Teddy Bear and Reindeer Face Parts set for the nose and mouth. The adorable sentiment came from Pink by Design's Hoppy Easter stamp set.  I think the cut file and the stamp are both perfect for this treat bag full of jelly beans.  I added lots of ink and some doodles, and my project was all done!  I hope you like it!

Now, how about some BLOG CANDY????

One lucky follower will win this Fancy Pants Design Summer's End 6x6" Paper Pad.  The papers in this set are soooo cute!  Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1.  Be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me you are.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

That's it!  That's all you need to do to have a chance to win.  If you'd like additional chances, though, you can do one or both of the following:

2.  "Like" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and leave a separate comment here on my blog telling me you did.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

3.  Post my blinky on your blog.  You can find it on the left side of this page.  Please leave me a comment with your blog address and your e-mail address.  I'd love to visit and become a follower of you, too!

Please, only US or Canadian addresses.  I'll choose a winner on Wednesday, April 4.  Good luck!

(BTW...I have another blog hop going on with some AWESOME blog candy.  If you'd like to check it out, click HERE).

Okay, now it's time for you to hop on over to Kristy's blog to see what cuteness she created.  Then, don't forget to head back to Cameo Creations after the hop to link up your own Silhouette-created Easter project.  You'll have about 2 weeks, or so, to submit your project.  And remember, you could win a $30 gift certificate to Scraptastical Kreations!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

SOUS Get to Know Me Blog Hop

TGIF!!!!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Stuck on U Sketches Get to Know Me Blog Hop.  Some of the SOUS Design Team members have each created a scrapbook layout and are answering 10 questions about ourselves on our posts.  That way, you can get to know each of us a little better, all while seeing some really beautiful layouts (and possibly collecting some blog candy along the way).

If you've come here from Leah's blog, you're in the right place.  If you'd like to start from the beginning, head on over to Stuck on U Sketches.  Then, make sure you leave a comment on each stop along the way to be eligible to win the SOUS blog candy.  I'll also have some candy available at the end of this post.  YAY!

Okay, I'll start out by answering my 10 questions.  Here it goes:

1. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?  Why?
Well, I guess I would be a RED crayon, because red is my very favorite color.  It's bright and cheery and romantic and fiery!  It's just the perfect color!  Plus, it makes you want to eat, and I LOVE to eat!  LOL!

2.  What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Hmmm...I guess you may be surprised to learn that, when I was a kid, I could flip my feet all the way backwards.  Yep...toes facing the back, heels facing the front!  HA!  Gross, huh?  I used to love grossing out people at school.  Well, that is, until all that flipping made my knees bad.  I should have listened to my dad's warnings.  Oh, if only I had listened to my dad's warnings more often. ;)

3.  What 5 things are always on your crafting table?
Let's see...my Silhouette Cameo, my Cricut, my paper trimmer, my ATG gun, and a big ol' glass of iced tea!  (plus WAY more, but I could only name 5...my crafting table is always REALLY messy!  I think I spend half of my time just trying to clear a spot so I can make something new).

4.  Your go-to embellishment is:
Ummm...ribbon, maybe?  I also pretty much always use die cuts, if that counts, which I love to dry emboss and ink up.

5.  What is your all-time favorite crafting tool?
For a long time, I would have said my Cricut, but I'm afraid my Silhouette Cameo is quickly winning the title.  Sorry, my little bug...I still love you, though!

6.  Tell us about your family - first in one word. Then in a sentence or two.
My family is FLEXIBLE.  Not like limber-flexible (though my youngest can do some mean splits).  We're flexible because we are a military family.  I've been married to an Air Force man for almost 13 years, and we have two daughters, ages 10 and 8.  We move around a lot, have to go where the AF sends us, have to deal with deployments and separations, and are constantly having to make new friends and connections.  That's why we're flexible. :)

7.  What is your dream vacation?
Well, a few months ago, I would have said that it would be to go on a Mediterranean Cruise, but I just got to do that (as you'll see in my layout later).  So, now I'd love to go somewhere tropical with white sandy beaches, sunshine, two Pina Coladas (one for each hand), and some cabana boys (ha ha...just kidding, my dear hubby!).

8.  Who is your favorite crafty company?
Gah!  That is such a hard one!  Especially since it's been over two years since I've set foot in a craft store (there aren't many of those around me)!  I'd have to go with two (the two that I use the most in my crafts).  That's Pink by Design Stamps (such fun sentiment stamps), and Lettering Delights (AWESOME SVG files and graphics to use with my Silhouette Cameo).

9.  Tell us a little bit about your crafty style.
Hmmmm...let's see.  I love using bright colors and patterns in my projects, and I most always use die cuts (though I'm learning more about stamping and doing print-and-cut projects).  I mostly create cards, though I started out with Scrapbooking (and I wish I scrapbooked more often).  My projects are usually cutesy and whimsical, with lots of ink and doodles around the edges.

10.  Where do you live?
We currently live in Germany, but we'll be going back to the States (somewhere in the States) sometime  next year.

Alrighty...now that you've learned a BUNCH about me, let's move on to my layout.  Here it is (you can click on the photo to zoom in):

The photo on this layout is from the Mediterranean cruise my family and I took this past December.  We boarded the ship, went to find our room and get a little something to eat, then checked out the deck of the ship.  It was pretty deserted up there, so my daughters and I were playing around...jumping and running and hopping all over the place (you can see my 10-year old sneaking around in the background of the photo).  I was just so happy and feeling so silly that I have all sorts of pictures of me in mid-air.  So, I decided to create this layout about the pure joy I was feeling that day.  I truly felt that I was living the life I'd imagined!

I got the Antique Frame, Arrow, Clouds, and Journaling Card from the Silhouette Online Store and cut them with my Silhouette Cameo.  I created the title using some fonts I have on my computer (using Silhouette Studio and my Cameo).  The cruise ship from my Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge (see...I still love you, little bug!)  The adorable stamp is from Pink by Design's The Life You Imagined Stamp Set, and the stars came from Pink by Design's Red, White, and Blue Stamp Set.  And, of course, I got the layout from this Ca-UTE sketch by our own Sandi Clarkson:

I decided to leave the middle ribbon off of my layout because I didn't have any that went well with the colors I used.  I added lots of ink and doodles, and my layout was all done.  I'm hoping to create a second page with multiple photos (all of the silly ones we took on the deck of the ship) to create a 2-page layout later.  I'm a really slow scrapbooker, so I didn't get to it yet.  I'll share it when I do, though. :)

Okay, now....how about a little BLOG CANDY????

One lucky follower will win this set of Crate Paper Restoration Collection 12 x 12" paper and border stickers.  YIPPEE!  (BTW...the yellow patterned paper I used in my layout came from a set JUST like this!) Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

Pink by Design Spring Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey, everyone!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, and the Pink by Design Spring Inspiration Blog Hop.  If you are coming from Pink by Design, you are in the right place.  If you've just stumbled upon my post, then I'd love it if you'd start at the beginning, HERE.

This month's Pink by Design Blog Hop/Challenge has a Spring Theme and an inspiration photo.  You can enjoy all of the AWESOME projects in the hop, then you can go create your own project based on the photo and link it up at Pink by Design.  Sarah has something special for one lucky linker. :)  Here's my card and the inspirational photo behind it:

I took my inspiration from the pennant banners, umbrella, and colors from the photo.  I got the bird and umbrella from the Lettering Delights Cloud Nine SVG Set, and I cut them using my Silhouette Cameo.

The beautiful banners are actually stamps from the Pink by Design Small Banners Stamp Set.  I stamped the banners on different patterns of cardstock, trimmed them with my scissors, punched small holes in the top corners, and threaded them onto some Brown Sugar Divine Twine that I purchased from the Pink by Design Store.

Here's a better look at the inside.  You can see that I created the front of the card by cutting the square front in half diagonally.  The sentiment on the card came from Pink by Design's Hoppy Easter Stamp Set.  I've used this one so much lately...I just LOVE it!

Okay, well, I can't be a part of a blog hop without offering a little BLOG CANDY, now, can I?

One lucky follower of my blog will win a Fancy Pants Design It's the Little Things 6x6" Paper Pad!  YAY!!!  Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1.  Be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me you are.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

That's it!  That's all you need to do to have a chance to win.  If you'd like additional chances, though, you can do one or all of the following:

2.  "Like" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and leave a separate comment here on my blog telling me you did.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

Memories in Tyme Easter Blog Hop

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Memories in Tyme Easter Blog Hop.  If you've come here from Barbara's blog, you are in the right place.  If you've just stumbled upon this post and would like to start at the beginning, go check out Memories in Tyme.  You don't want to miss even one of the gorgeous projects in this hop! Plus, I bet you'll find some awesome blog candy along the way!

For my project, I decided to create an Easter treat box for my youngest daughter's teacher.  Here it is:

I got this sweet Easter basket and chick from My Scrap Chick's Easter Chicks Mini Collection.  Isn't it just so adorable?  I cut it with my Silhouette Cameo.  I replaced the chicky's eyes with one of the face stamps from my Peachy Keen Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment.  I embossed the basket base with my Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder, and added lots of ink to my cuts.

The tag was left over from another project, but I think it works perfectly with this little treat box.  I got my sentiments from Pink by Design's Hoppy Easter Stamp Set.  Then, I tied it to the basket with some Divine Twine that I got from the Pink by Design Store.

The Easter Chicks file doesn't include a box, so I used one from the Lettering Delights Easter Beasties Bag SVG Set.  I created a mirrored image of the basket and eggs for the back of the box.  Then I filled it with Easter grass and goodies for my daughter's teacher.  I hope she likes it (and you do, too)!

Okay, what's a blog hop without BLOG CANDY???

Happy Everything ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge March 23

TGIF, everyone!  Today is my Design Team day over at Stuck On You Sketches.  We have a Die Cut Challenge every other Friday, and this week's theme is Bunnies, Etc. Here's the card I made for the challenge:

This is a HUGE 6" x 9" card.  I didn't plan all of my cuts very well, so they all turned out a little bigger than I had envisioned them.  It's okay, though, because I have some 6" x 9" envelopes around here somewhere, so I'll still be able to use it.

I got the cute bunny with basket file, grass file, and patterned eggs file from the Silhouette Online Store, and I cut them using my Silhouette Cameo.  That cute sentiment came from Pink by Design's Hoppy Easter Stamp Set, and I created the banner with my paper trimmer and a square punch (which I used to cut the notch).  I added lots of ink, some doodles, and a pretty bow, and my ginormous bunny card was all done.  I hope you like it!

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck On U Sketches to see what the rest of the Design Team members created, then make a bunny project of your own.  Just make sure to use die cuts on your project.  You have two weeks to enter, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!!!

Give Away Hugs

Happy Monday, everyone!  Today is my DT day over at Pink by Design, and I have a cute little Easter decoration to share with you.  Here it is:

That fun sentiment came from Pink by Design's Subway Art Stamp Set.  I love that you can use the stamps all together to create subway art, or you can use them separately as sentiments.  I thought the "give away hugs" one was perfect for this little bunny.  She is actually the Sleeping Bunny from My Scrap Chick's Easter Bunnies Mini Collection.  I didn't want her to be sleeping, though, I wanted her to be giving away some hugs. So, I used a face from Peachy Keen's Princess Face Assortment to make her look awake. I added lots of ink to the cuts, popped them up with different sizes of foam tape, and my little bunny scene was all done.

I was originally going to use this for a card, but it was so cute that I decided to make it into a little shelf decoration.  All I had to do was add a piece to the back to make it stand up on its own.  Here's how I did it:

First, I folded a rectangular piece of cardstock in half and cut it on an angle to create a triangle.  With it folded in half, I made another fold as shown.

Then, I used my ATG gun to add adhesive to the piece I've marked in the photo.

Finally, I adhered the piece to the back of my bunny scene.  Now, it stands up just like a picture frame would.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great week!

Cameo Creations Challenge: You Make Me Smile

Hey, everyone! Today is a great day for another challenge over at Cameo Creations.  This week's challenge is to use your Silhouette electronic cutter (any model) to create a square shaped card using a digital stamp and buttons.  This was my first time using a digi with my Cameo, and it was also my first time using the print and cut feature, so I was a little nervous about this one.  It was easier than I thought it would be, though, and I think it turned out to be pretty cute. Here it is:

This cute little Sock Monkey Girl is a digital stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  I opened it in my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and colored it using the technique you can find in Monica's tutorial HERE.  I chose to use some patterns from the Silhouette Online Store to color parts of the stamp, though, and I really like how she turned out.  I also designed the layout of the card in Studio, filled the shapes with patterns, and used the print and cut feature to cut out those elements.  Here's a list of all of the Silhouette Studio patterns/files I used:

Square Background Pattern: Dot Pattern by SEI
Scalloped Border Pattern: Happy Stripe Pattern by Lori Whitlock
Monkey Polka Dot Pattern: Happy Dot by Lori Whitlock

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I printed two little monkeys and used the second one to cut out the nose, belly, and bow.  Then, I popped those parts up to add a little dimension to her. And, of course, that sweet sentiment came from Pink by Design's Enjoy the Journey Stamp Set. I added some ink and some buttons, and my card was all done! :)

I made sure to decorate the inside, too.

So, what are you waiting for?  Get out your Silhouette and create a square card using a digi and buttons.  I promise you...using a digi is not hard.  Then, link it up at Cameo Creations by March 29, and you could win some digital stamps from our sponsor for this week:  Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

I can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Special Delivery ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge March 9

TGIF, everyone!!!  I'm super excited to share some news with you today!  The wonderful ladies over at Stuck On U Sketches have asked me to be a part of their Die Cut Design Team.  So, every two weeks, I'll be sharing a project with you that uses die cuts and telling you about a fun challenge you can enter!  I'm so excited to be a part of such a talented team, and I'm so excited to share my projects with you.

This week's Die Cut Challenge is to create a project with a silhouette or cameo on it (using die cuts, of course).  Here's what I came up with:

I created this 5" x 7" card for my mom.  It's hard living so far away from family, so I wanted to send her some love through the mail.  I cut all of the shapes with my Silhouette Cameo. I got the sweet girl riding the bicycle from this file and the hearts from this file, both of which I found in the Silhouette Online Store.  The cute sentiment came from Pink By Design's Ticket to Ride Stamp Set.   I added some ink, ribbon, and jewels, and my card was all done.  I hope you like it!

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck On You Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created, then enter the Die Cut Challenge yourself.  You have two whole weeks to enter. I can't wait to see what you create!  Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a great one!

A Wee Bit of Luck

Hey, everyone!  Did you know that Pink by Design has a challenge going on right now?  All you have to do is create something St. Patrick's Day-themed or green and link it up HERE.  We'd love to see what you make, and you could win an AWESOME prize!  I couldn't help but join in on the fun, so I created a fun St. Paddy's Day card.  Here it is:

I'm not totally sure where I got this cute Irish Dancer.  She was a free svg file I found somewhere a long time ago, and I cut her out using my Silhouette Cameo.  Isn't she precious?  I stamped her face with a stamp from my Peachy Keen Princess Face Assortment. The shamrocks were left over from another project.  I wanted her background to look like the Irish flag, so I cut a green, white, and orange strip of paper and stamped them with Pink by Design background stamps.  The green one is stamped with Lace, the white one is stamped with Distressed Music, and the orange one is stamped with Damask.  I really love how it added just a bit of pattern to her background.  The cute sentiment came from Pink by Design's Luck O' the Irish Stamp Set.  I added lots of ink, some glossy accents to her shoes, and some crinkle ribbon, and my card was all done.  I really love how it turned out...I hope you like it, too! :)

Now, I REALLY hope you'll head on over to Pink by Design to join the challenge yourself.  I know we can't wait to see what you create!   Thanks for stopping by today!

I'm also entering this in these challenges:

Makin' Waves

Happy Monday, everyone!  Today is my Design Team day over at Pink by Design, so I have a fun card to share with you today.  Here it is:

The fabulous sentiment came from Pink by Design's Cruisin' Stamp Set.  I think it's perfect for a congratulations card.  I also can't wait to use it whenever I start scrapbooking our last vacation...which happened to be a cruise.  This set will be PERFECT for that!

I found this cool surfer girl in the Silhouette Online Store and cut her using my Silhouette Cameo.  I created the base of the card by welding two circles together in Silhouette Studio.  Then, I embossed it using Tim Holtz Retro Circles embossing folder and my Cuttlebug.  I inked everything up with my ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks, and my card was all done.  I hope you like it.

By the way, did you know that there is a fun challenge going on right now at Pink by Design???  You can enter by creating a project that is green or St. Patrick's Day themed and linking it up HERE by March 12.  I hope you'll join in on the fun.  You could win an AWESOME prize!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll stop by later in the week...I have exciting news to share with you! ;)

Cameo Creations Challenge: St. Patrick's Day Decor

Happy March 1, everyone!  Can you believe it's already March???  This year has just been flying by, and we even had an extra day in there!  Whew!

Today is a great day for another Cameo Creations Challenge.  This time, the challenge is to create a home decor item with a St. Patrick's Day theme.  Here's what I came up with:

I created this little door/wall hanging with svgs and Silhouette Studio files.  The leprechaun, rainbow, pot of gold, shamrocks, and banner all came from the Lettering Delights Luck of the Irish Cut It Set.  The clouds came from this file I found in the Silhouette Online Store.  I created the base of the hanging by arranging the rainbow and clouds on my virtual mat in Silhouette Studio and then using the offset tool to create a shadow layer around all four shapes.  Then, I cut ten of those shadow layers out of kraft cardstock so my wall hanging would feel more like a thin wooden sign.  I glued all of the pieces together, added another layer cut out of blue patterned paper, and I had a nice, sturdy base for my wall hanging.

I used fun glitter and reflective paper for the rainbow.  I like the sparkle that it adds.

The leprechaun's tights, jacket trim, buckle, and button are also sparkly.  He is sooo fashionable!  Ha!  I stamped his cute little face with a stamp from my Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face Assortment.

The gold, of course, is also glittery.  I inked all of my cuts up with my ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks, added some doodle lines and a ribbon for hanging, and my door/wall handing was all done!  I hope you like it!

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to enter the Cameo Creations Challenge.  The only requirements are that you create a home decor item with a St. Patrick's Day theme using your Silhouette machine (any model).  Then, link it up so we can all see your fabulous creation!  Plus, you'll be entered to win a super fun prize! You have until March 15 to enter...I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
