Owl Graduation Card ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge May 31

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The challenge this time is to create a project using a die cut of a bird.  Here's what I created:

I got this sweet little nerdy owl and his grad cap from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) Little Hoot Cutting Files set.  The speech bubble is from this week's PPPR Friday Freebie...Speech Bubbles Cutting Files.  I added a sentiment from Pink by Design's You're a Hoot Stamp Set, some doodles, and some ribbon, and my colorful little grad card was all done!  :)

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own project using a DIE CUT of a bird.  We can't wait to see what you create!

I'm sad to say that this is my last post as a DT member at SOUS.  Things have gotten so busy around here, and I just don't have as much time for crafting as I used to.  Plus, I was on 5 DTs there for a while, and that was just CRAZY! I'm going to really miss being a part of the SOUS team....they are an awesome group of ladies!

I'll be back a little later today with a Guest Designer post and a peek at that Friday Freebie.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sweet & Silly Flower ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge May 17 & a FREEBIE

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  YAY!  The challenge this time is to create a project using a die cut of a flower.  Easy, peasy!  Here's what I came up with:

This sweet little flower shaped card would work for so many occasions.  I got the flower from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Flower Assortment Cutting Files set.  I created a shadow layer by using the offset feature in Silhouette Studio, mirrored the shadow shape to the left, and welded the two shapes together.  I added this cutie of a face from my Peachy Keen Sweet & Silly Face Assortment and a few doodles with my white gel pen, and my simple little card was all done!

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other fabulous DT members created this week.  Then, link up your own project that uses a die cut of a flower.  We can't wait to see what you create.

But first, be sure to pick up this week's PPPR Friday Freebie.  This little Mr. Fix-It Gift Card Holder would be perfect for Dad...Father's Day is just around the corner!  This file will be free for one week, only, then it will move to the 99 Cent Downloads section of the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll come back tomorrow for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Just For Him Blog Hop.  We'll have lots of masculine projects to share with you, plus, there will be some fun blog candy up for grabs.  I hope to see you there!

Love You Mom ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge May 3 & a FREEBIE!

Hi, everyone!  It's time for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  The challenge this time is to create a project with a die cut of the word Mom or Mother (or a die cut of a mom).  Here's what I created:

This card was so easy to create...I just used the new Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Mother's Day Cards Cutting Files set.  I just cut out all of the pieces, inked them up, and adhered them all together.  Then...all done!  Sooo easy!  I will say, though, that a good quality paper or a new blade is needed to cut out the "Love You" part of the card.  It gets pretty intricate on an A2 sized card like this one. :)

Now, it's your turn.   Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other DT members created.  Then, link up your own project that uses a DIE CUT of the word Mom or Mother (or a die cut of a mother).  We can't wait to see what you create.

Oh, but first, be sure to check out this week's Friday Freebie in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Store.  This file will be free for one week, then it will move to the 99 Cent Downloads section of the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll be back next week with some more projects to share with you.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Crabby ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge April 19

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  The theme for this challenge is to create a project using a die cut of a crustacean.  Here's what I came up with:

I got this sad little crab from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Moody Crab Cutting Files Set.  He's just perfect for this sentiment from Pink by Design's Crikey Stamp Set.  I created the "sand" on the card by tearing a piece of kraft cardstock, embossing it with my Sizzix Tim Holtz Bubble embossing folder, and inking it up with a darker color of brown.  I added some gems and some pretty ribbon, and my card was all done!

Now it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own project that includes a crustacean die cut.

Oh, and I can't forget to tell you this!!! For 2 DAYS ONLY, I'm having a Spring MEGA Sale!  Use the coupon code springmega to save 40% off your purchase of $10 or more in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Store.  YAY!!!  These kinds of savings don't come around often, so don't miss out.  This coupon code will expire at 11:59 on Saturday, April 20.  Valid for only one purchase per customer.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Stop by a little later to see this week's new Friday Freebie!

Fish You Were Here ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge April 5

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  This week's challenge is to create a project using a die cut with a SEA theme.  Here's what I came up with:

I got this cute hammerhead shark from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Fishy Friends Cutting Files Set. I created the card base by drawing an oval in Silhouette Studio, duplicating it, and welding the two together.  The fun sentiment is from Pink by Design's Crikey Stamp Set, and the beautiful Coral Crush crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  I added some ink and some chalk cheeks to the shark, and my card was all done!

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own project that features a SEA-themed DIE CUT.  You have two weeks to link up...we cant wait to see what you create! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to check out the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Store for the new Friday Freebie!  Have a great weekend! :)

Stroller ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge March 22

Hey, everyone!  It's time for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches.  The challenge this time is to create a project using a die cut of a stroller.  Here's what I created:

I got this sweet 3D Stroller from the Silhouette Online Store.  It's really fun to put together.  The only problem is that my little candies were too heavy for the stroller...the little wheels couldn't take the weight. If I were to make this again, I'd cut several wheels and glue them together to create a stronger base.  Or, I'd cut them from chipboard.  I got the sentiment from the Pink by Design Sweet Baby Stamp Set.

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team Members created.  Then, link up your own die cut stroller project. We can't wait to see what you create.

I'll be back later today with another project and a FREEBIE for you!  Have a great day!

Green Beers! ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge March 8

TGIF, everyone!  I finally got some of my new craft room unpacked, so I'm so happy to be able to share my first project from Colorado!  YAY!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge, and the challenge this time is to create a project using a die cut of a shamrock.  Here's what I came up with:

I created this fun shaped card using files from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Luck of the Irish Cutting Files Set.  I mirrored the base layer of the mug above and welded the two shapes together to create the card base.  I don't know if you can tell, but the top layer of the green beer is glitter paper.  I love the sparkle it gives to the card.  The fun sentiment is from Pink by Design's Luck O' The Irish Stamp Set.

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other wonderful Design Team members created.  Then, you can link up your own project that uses a die cut of a shamrock.  We can't wait to see what you create!

I'll be back a little later with an awesome Guest Designer.  Then, I'll have a fun sneak peek of a new Pink by Design stamp set tomorrow.  Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

I Love You Balloon ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Feb. 8

TGIF!!!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The challenge this time is to use a die cut of a balloon on your project.  Here's what I created:

The giraffe and balloon on this A2 sized card came from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) Safari Love Cutting Files Set.  I added some stitching lines to the cuts so the giraffe looks like a stuffed animal.  The background shape on the card came from the PPPR Layered Labels 2 Cutting Files.  I added a sentiment from Pink by Design's Love Always Stamp Set, some ribbon from 3 Girl JAM, and lots of ink, and my card was all done!  I hope you like it.

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own project that uses a die cut of a balloon.  We can't wait to see what you create!

I have a winner from last week's SOUS blog hop:

I left a comment for you on your blog...be sure to e-mail me your mailing address so I can send out your prize. :)

We are moving back to the States next week, so what is left of my craft supplies is being mailed to our new city.  So, I won't have any projects to share with you for a while.  I will, of course, have new files for you, and I have some posts from my Design Team and some Guest Designers to share with you.  So, you will still be hearing from me.  Here's hoping our search for a home goes smoothly so we can get all settled in and I can start crafting again soon. :)  I do have a Friday Freebie ready for you today, though!

And, there's an AWESOME sale going on now in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Store!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!!!

SOUS 100th Sketch Blog Hop

TGIF, everyone!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Stuck on U Sketches 100th Sketch Blog Hop.  If you have come here from Lizzy's blog, you are in the right place.  If you've just stumbled upon my post and would like to start from the beginning, you can head on over to the Stuck on U Sketches Blog.

Stuck on U Sketches is celebrating it's 100th sketch today, so we are all creating projects based on this sketch.  You'll see lots of layouts and also some cards, and there will be lots of chances for fun blog candy and gifts along the way.  So, you don't want to miss even one stop.  Then, you can join in by creating your own project based on the sketch.

Here's my project:

And here's the SOUS 100th sketch I based my card on:

I decided to turn the sketch on its side for my card.  I didn't have any photos on my card, so I took the idea of the envelope and used it in the place of the photos.  The envelope and the hearts are from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Valentine Kids Cutting Files set, and the stamp shape is from the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut all of the pieces using my Silhouette Cameo.  I got the fun sentiment from the Pink by Design Rain or Shine Stamp Set.  All of the patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Happy Day 6" x 6"  paper pad.

Now, how about a little BLOG CANDY???  One lucky follower of my blog will receive this set of Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 1 Dies.  Just leave me a comment with your e-mail address, and I'll pick a winner on Friday, February 8, 2013.  Please only US and Canadian addresses.

Your next stop in the hop is Leslie.

Oh, and if you have the ability to cut SVG or DXF files, I have 2 Friday Freebies to share with you today:

Here's the whole lineup just in case you get lost along the way:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

XOXO ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Jan. 25 & a FREEBIE!

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge!  YAY!  The challenge this time is to create a wreath around a photo using a die cut.  I adapted this challenge to fit a card, and I created a wreath around the mat on the label I used to create my shaped card.  Here's my project:

The card base for this card came from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Layered Labels 2 Cutting Files. I just mirrored one of the shapes and welded the two pieces together to create a card.  The fun little flying heart is from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Happy Heart Cutting Files (this week's Friday Freebie).  I also got the little hearts I created my wreath with from this file...I just used the "release compound path" function in Silhouette Studio to get rid of the facial features on the little heart.  Then, I made several smaller copies of the heart and adhered them around the oval on the label.  I added a stamp from Pink by Design's Love Always Stamp Set and some doodle marks, and my little card was all done.

If you have the ability to cut SVG or DXF files, you can pick up this sweet little free flying heart HERE (free through 1-31).

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own project featuring a "wreath" made out of die cut shapes.  You have 2 weeks to enter, and we can't wait to see what you link up!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll come by tomorrow for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Valentine Blog Hop.  We'll have lots of PPPR Valentine's Day inspiration for you, and we'll  also have some fun blog candy available.  We hope to see you there!

You Melt My Heart ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Jan. 11

TGIF, everyone!  Things have been super busy around here.  We're moving back to the States in February, and we had all of our household goods packed up last week.  So, I've been up to my eyeballs in cleaning and organizing for the last couple of weeks.  I kept out a little (well, it's actually pretty big) crafty care package so I'll still be able to craft a little over the next few weeks.  It felt so good to get to create this project...it's just been SOOOO long!

Anyway, it's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The challenge this time is to switch out a letter in your title (or sentiment...if you're a card maker) with a die cut of an object.  Well, I seem to have stretched the challenge a little bit, because I substituted a die cut for an entire word in my sentiment.  Honestly, I'm surprised that's the only mistake I made. I've barely been able to keep my head screwed on straight lately, so my project will have to do.  We also had the extra challenge of using only scraps for our project.  Here's what I created:

I got the fun sentiment and cup from the new Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Hot Cocoa Cutting Files set.  I simply arranged my cuts on my Silhouette mat, created an offset (shadow) layer around the cup, and welded that shadow to the brown layer of the sentiment/title.  All of the cardstock came from my scrap bin.  The wooden pattern is actually four strips of washi tape that I laid down next to each other to create a table top for my cup to sit on.  I added some ink and some doodles, and my card was all done...I hope you like it.

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created, then link up your own project that has a die cut in the place of a letter in a word.  Remember to try your best to use your scraps...it's a great way to start cleaning out that massive pile you know you're collecting. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll be back next week with lots and LOTS of projects for you.  Have an amazing weekend!

Holiday Cheer ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Dec. 28

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The challenge this time is "I deerly love Christmas", so we were supposed to create a project using a die cut of a deer.  I created one last Christmas card for this challenge.  Here it is:

I got this festive reindeer from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) Jolly St. Nick Cutting Files and cut him out with my Silhouette Cameo.  I created the card base by welding two shapes from the PPPR Layered Labels 1 Cutting Files set together.  The tag came from the PPPR Layered Tags 1 Cutting Files, and the sentiment is from Pink by Design's Christmas Wishes stamp set.

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other amazing DT members created.  Then, link up your own project that uses a die cut of a deer.  You have 2 weeks to enter.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a very Happy New Year! :)

Merry Be Your Days ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Dec. 14

TGIF!!!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge. The theme this time is TOYS, TOYS, TOYS!  So, we needed to use a die cut of a toy on our project.  Here's what I created:

I got this fun little toy soldier from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Santa's Helpers Cutting Files set.  I added a banner I hand cut and some circles I punched with circle punches to set off this sweet sentiment from Pink by Design's Merry Be Your Days Stamp Set.  I embossed the larger circle with my Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder, and I added some tiny rhinestones to the background paper for a little sparkle.

This card did fit in a #10 envelope until I added that big ol' banner.  Oh, well! :)  I'll figure out a way to mail it.  I hope you like it, anyway!

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other wonderful DT members created, then link up your own project using a DIE CUT of a TOY. We can't wait to see what you create! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll come back tomorrow for the PPPR Winter Blog Hop.  We'll have some fun projects to share and some awesome blog candy.  We hope to see you there!

Believe ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Nov. 30

TGIF, everyone!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The challenge this time is to use a die cut of GIFTS on your project.  Here's what I came up with:

I god this fun little Santa holding gifts from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Jolly St. Nick Cutting Files Set, and I cut him out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The background paper, borders and tag all came from the My Mind's Eye 12 Days of Christmas Paper and Accessories Pack.  I added some pretty red jewels and some twine, and my card was all done...easy peasy!

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other amazing Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own project that includes a die cut of GIFTS.  We can't wait to see what you create!

Owl Treat Box ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Nov. 16

Happy Friday, everyone!  Today is a great day for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The challenge this time is to use a die cut of an owl on a project.  Here's what I created:

I found this adorable 3D Owl Tote Box by Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette Online Store.  I filled almost all of the pieces with Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Pumpkin Spice Digital Papers in Silhouette Studio and then cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo.  Here are the digital paper packs I used:

I added lots of ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink to the pieces and some pretty crinkle ribbon, and my little treat box was all done!  I hope you like it.

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to SOUS to see what the other Die Cut Design Team members created.  Then, join in on the fun yourself by linking up your own project that includes an owl die cut.  We can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Fall Blog Hop.  We'll have some fun projects and blog candy to share.  I hope to see you there!

Happy Fall Ya'll ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Nov. 2

TGIF!!!  Today is an awesome day for another Stuck On U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The theme of this challenge is to use a die cut of the WORD "fall" or "autumn".  Now, I'm such a major CORNBALL because I totally messed up on this challenge.  I didn't read carefully, and I thought we were supposed to use a fall or autumn die cut.  DOH!  So, do what I say and not what I do.  ;)  I'm really excited about how my project turned out, so I'm happy to share it with you, anyway.  But, remember that the challenge is SUPPOSED to be use a die cut of the WORD "fall" or "autumn".  Here's my not-quite-right project:

This card measures 5.75" x 5.75".  You know, I think that's my favorite card size...there's so much room  on there to create!  I got the fence, husk bundle, hay bale, and crow from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) Fall Festival Cutting Files Set.  The pumpkin came from the PPPR First Thanksgiving Cutting Files Set, and the banner is from the PPPR Sentiment Spots 1 Cutting Files Set.

I stamped my fence with my Pink by Design Distressed Wood Background Stamp, and the sentiment came from Pink by Design's Simply Everything Stamp Set.  I embossed the hay bale with my Cuttlebug Branches embossing folder and the husk bundle with my Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder.  I also gave the little crow a brad eye. I added some pretty jute ribbon and some buttons, and my card was all done!  I hope you like it!

Now, head on over to SOUS to see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team created.  They were all MUCH better at following directions than I was this week!  Then, link up your own project using a die cut of the WORD "fall" or "autumn".

By the way, SOUS is having a Design Team Call.  They are adding 2 DT members to each of their teams: Layout Sketch Team, Die Cut Team, and Card Sketch Team.  Check out this post to read all of the details. :)
