Luau Birthday Party Decorations

Happy Saturday, everyone! Can you believe it's already the last day of May? Craziness!!!! My oldest daughter turns 13 tomorrow (YIKES!), and we had a Luau Birthday Party for her a couple of weeks ago (since we've been on vacation this past week). So, I wanted to share with you how I decorated for her party. So, I hope you enjoy the TONS and TONS of photos (believe me, I narrowed it down).

Here's my sweet Madi under the 3D tree I found at a party store:

I created this banner using the Aloha and Simple Banner Shapes Cutting Files, along with the new Luau Basic Patterns Digital Papers:

I have Pinterest (and the Walmart bakery) to thank for the food ideas I put together:

Then, the girls had pizza (Hawaiian was included, of course). Afterwards, they got to create their own sundaes.

And, we couldn't have a Luau without Hawaiian Punch, right? ;)

I created these party favors using the Pineapple Gift Box Cutting Files. I filled them with nail polish, chapstick, Starbursts, and Almond Joys. The girls also got to take home their coconut cups, grass skirts, and leis.

And, in case you missed it...I created this printable invitation using the Aloha Cutting Files (which include clip art files, also).

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for more PPPR inspiration. :)

A Sneak Peek and a WINNER!!!!

Hey, everyone! I have a little sneak peek to share with you today. My daughter's 13th birthday is coming up, and we're planning a Luau slumber party for her and her friends. So, I wanted to share the invitation I created for the occasion.

This little hula girl and the pretty flowers are sneak peeks of a set that should hopefully be done later this week. I created the invitation digitally using Adobe Photoshop Elements. Then, all I had to do was print 4 to each page and cut them apart. Super easy and quick when you have a lot of invitations to create.  Of course, I blocked out all of our personal information for the internet...so just imagine the address, dates, and times. ;) I'm also creating some fun decorations and party favors for her party, and I'll share those with you when they're done. :)

I also have the randomly-chosen winner from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Girly Blog Hop. The winner of a $15 Gift Certificate to the PPPR store is:

Congratulations, Kathy! I don't have your email address, so contact me at lisanorris at prettypapergraphics dot com to claim your prize. :)

Remember that we have a new Girly Challenge going on right now. Link up your girl-themed project using PPPR files for a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to the PPPR store. You can find out all of the details about the challenge HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by, today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for more PPPR inspiration! :)

A Magical Birthday Party

Today is my youngest daughter's 10th birthday, and we had a Harry Potter-themed birthday party for her this past weekend.  So, I thought I'd show you all of the party goodies I worked on to help make her day special.  I'll show you everything first (be prepared for LOTS of photos), then I'll post most of the items I used to create the goodies at the end of the post.

First, I created these invitations for her.  I decided to do one I could just print out, and I printed them on pre-cut photo paper to save some trimming time. Of course, I blocked out our personal info so I could post a pic here. :)

Then, I made a birthday banner for her:

I kept it pretty small so it would fit across our mantel.  Each banner piece is just 3 inches wide.

We had trouble finding a Harry Potter cake, so I decided to buy a premade one from a local grocery store and add some decorations myself:

Then, I worked on yummy snacks for the party. I can't take credit for these ideas...I found most of them on Pinterest somewhere.  But, I had a blast putting everything together. I labeled everything with some free journalling cards I found online that I folded over in half. I made these Chocolate Frogs with a mold I found on Amazon.com.

Store-bought lemon drops became magical by name:

These Snitch Truffles are actually doughnut holes with wings added:

Of course, some Jelly Bellys became Every Flavour Beans:

And, I made some Troll Boogers with some microwave popcorn and lime jello (I found the recipe online HERE).  It's hard to tell in the photo, but the popcorn is covered in a snotty green sticky slime...LOL! I put them in a trick-or-trick bucket we had stored with our Halloween decorations.

Of course, a Harry Potter party wouldn't be a party without some Butter Beer (it's really just root beer).

I also created some fun party favors for the kids to take home with them (along with some Harry Potter glasses I bought on Amazon. I cut all of the boxes by hand...can you believe that???  You can find the links for the boxes I used at the end of the post:

I used some old suitcases I have, an owl and scarf I found on Amazon.com, and some Harry Potter stuff we had around the house already to create this little table decoration.  My hubby also hung up an old Halloween costume he had to create a Dementor in our kitchen.

Finally, here's a the party setup all together.  Luckily, we had a sorting hat already (can you tell we love Harry around here?).

Whew!  That's a bunch of decorations.  I can't forget to show you the card I made for her, too:

Thanks so much for stopping by today and reading my EXTRA LONG post.  As I promised, here are (most of) the items I used to create the invitations, decorations, and card:
