Love Moo, Fair Style!

Hello, there! It's Ruth here today from Paper and Musings and I'd like to share a fun layout with pictures from our visit to the county fair a number of years ago. I have a lot of pictures of the kids riding rides and I have a page planned using these files:
***BUNDLE*** Fair Fun Cutting Files
but when I found some sweet photos of the kids with a calf, I just couldn't resist using the tickets from Fair Fun along with some of these files (cow and "Love Moo" sentiment):
Moovelous Cutting Files

along with some of these (fence and hay bale):
Fall Festival Cutting Files
So, you ready for the cuteness?
Here it is:

I just can't get over how sweet these photos were and I couldn't resist using Lisa's Moovelous files to help tell this story!

Please feel free to stop by my blog for more pictures of my page as well as details about the layout.

Thanks so much for all your words of encouragement! I've had a blast being on Lisa's design team, but my life is going in new directions and I need to step down after having a year to play with lots of awesome files from Lisa's shop. I hope to be back as a guest artist and I hope you do lots of creating with Lisa's files!

Happy crafting!

Opening Night!

*****(I sure hope you hopped with us on Saturday! Be sure to check out that post for lots of inspiration, links to freebies as well as the chance to win some blog candy!)*****

Hi! Ruth here from Paper and Musings with a layout about the excitement of going to the opening night of a movie!
In our house, we were always looking forward to the next Harry Potter book or movie and my daughter and I got to attend the opening show for the very last Harry Potter movie because it was in the summer!
Here's my page:
and the hidden journaling block:

I used:
Wizard Academy Cutting Files
Photo Frames 3 Cutting Files
Tab Shapes Cutting Files
and to fill the different shapes:
Wizard Academy Pattern Pack

Pretty fun, right? And those cute Harry Potter characters and images are all perfect for this page about the excitement of my young fan!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy scrapping!

She's got some Smarty Pants!

Yep, even though the challenge is over, I could not resist these super fun new files Lisa added to the shop!
I mean look at them!
Science Lab Cutting Files
Science of Love Cutting Files
They were so perfect for the story of my daughter and her Sophomore Chemistry class. Here's what I did with the new files and a couple of others.

And here's a closeup.

I printed the chemistry lab related images and the atom image on vellum (I know - I need to seek some help for my vellum dependency) and the radioactive symbol on photo paper and then had my Cameo cut them out. (I used the "no" symbol because her class did hardly any labs and somehow my daughter did an awesome job without all the fun of doing labs and received an achievement ribbon so good for her!)

The other shapes I used are:
Photo Frames 1 Cutting FilesSpeech Bubbles Cutting FilesSentiment Spots 3 Cutting Files

So do you have some ideas brewing for how to use these files? I sure hope I've inspired you and I hope you'll share your projects in the challenges here or in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Facebook group whenever you create anything with Lisa's files!

Happy crafting!

Zoo Pages

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Ruth, here, to share with you a layout I created for a field trip to the zoo.

I figured Lisa's super cute animals (and some other files) would be perfect for the fun 2nd graders in the photos.

Here is my layout:

I used:

Safari Love Cutting Files
School Days Pattern PackIcee Cutting FilesBorders 4 Cutting FilesWinter Critters Cutting Files

Gnomies Cutting FilesFlamingos in Love Cutting FilesSafari Love 2 Cutting Files

A few details I'd like to point out. I couldn't resist making a couple of lines of flamingos on vellum and the little Gnomies bird was perfect since the kids were singing their Africa songs to the animals (I used a sketch pen to draw the notes.) For more pictures of my project, feel free to stop by my blog: Paper and Musings!

Thanks so much for visiting! This would be a great project for the Smarty Pants challenge that's going on. Be sure to check out all the details by using the link in the upper right corner.

Happy Christmas in August!

Any time before Christmas is always a good time to make Christmas cards so why not? And when you're inspired sometimes you have to go with it even if it doesn't make any sense (which is really the case with me!)
It's Ruth here today and thanks for humoring me.
I really did get inspired and had the best time designing my card!
I used:

Shadow Box Card 1 Cutting Files
with:
North Pole Express Cutting Fiiles
and:
Snowy Scene Cutting Files
and here's how it turned out:

I love the 3D effect of the train with the card frame and the ticket is a great sentiment, don't you think?
Feel free to stop by my blog (Paper and Musings) where I'm sure to ramble on endlessly, or you could do some Christmas in August crafting, too! It's what all the cool kids are doing! ;-)

Thanks so much for visiting today! Click on any of the pictures if you'd like to go to that product in the shop.

Happy crafting!

Water, water, everywhere!

Hi! I hope you're having a great day! It's Ruth here to share a project I created for my Hawaiian vacation album. I only used part of one file, but it was so perfect I didn't see the need for anything else:
I used this file:
and couldn't be happier with how perfect it is for my layout about a place where the ocean was beating up on the lava at the shore.

Do you know this would be a great project for the current "Under the Sea" challenge? Well, it would and I hope you've already thought about how you have a project you could easily enter into this challenge! Please check out the details where it says "monthly challenge" above.

Please feel free to stop by my blog for more details about how I created this page: Paper and Musings.

Making a scene

Hi! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July, especially if you live in the US. I love the time spent with family and friends, so it's something I look forward to.

My layout today was years in the making! I was trying to solve the problem of a page that I had no pictures for and then the inspiration hit that I could follow the lead of my fellow DT members and create a scene to share some of the sights I didn't capture with my camera!

I used:

Snowy Scene Cutting Files

Snowy Scene Cutting Files
to create rolling foothills

College Road Trip Cutting Files

College Road Trip Cutting Files
to recreate the road we were driving on

Oh, Snap! Title Cutting Files

Oh, Snap! Title Cutting Files
This was the perfect title and a great spark of inspiration for my page

Farm Critters Cutting Files

Farm Critters Cutting Files
I used the chicken and the horse - I just liked how they worked with my page.

Fall Festival Cutting Files

Fall Festival Cutting Files
for the bit of fence I used

Flower Assortment Cutting Files

Flower Assortment Cutting Files
for the bits of grass here and there.

And here's how it all came together:

I love how the chicken came out. I looked for chickens that were colorful on Google and used colors from other parts of this album.

This horse is adorable and so much fun to pop the different parts up with foam adhesive to add some dimension!

I'm so happy to now have a final page for this album!
So, if you ever need to fill in where you don't have a picture - just keep the Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons shop in mind! The possibilities are endless!

Happy crafting!

and
Yep, fun from start to finish! So much fun to put together (and the dresser was fun, too, if you can't tell by all the smiles and silliness!)
Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you have a fantastic Father's Day!

Are we there yet?

Hello! Ruth here!
It's so good to get back to scrapping after the end of the school year gift-making extravaganza! Don't get me wrong, I love making the gifts, but I love so much about scrapbooking. It's just a whole package of awesome for me!

So, you may have guessed that I'm sharing a layout today!
And it's from my son's 8th grade promotion, which I'm so glad to have scrapped when it hasn't even been a week since it happened! I just loved this picture and Lisa had the perfect files for helping to tell this story! I didn't use any of the files you might expect I would use, either.

Here's my page:

I used files from:

Are We There Yet Cutting Files

Are We There Yet Cutting Files
for the title! So perfect for these young men who are ready to get outta dodge (our K-8 school) and on to something bigger and better (hello, high school!)

Arrows Cutting Files

Arrows Cutting Files
because these young men are going places (and arrows are awesome!)

Gnomies Cutting Files

Gnomies Cutting Files
the sign tells where they are headed - perfect!

You can stop by my blog if you would like to see more detailed pictures, would like to leave me some love (I always love that) or are interested to see what challenges I'm entering.

Thanks so much for coming by today!

Happy crafting!
