Are we There yet? Scrapbook layout

TGI-Tuesday..LOL
Its Nanné here from Nanne's Creations to share a layout I created using one of my favorite cutting files by Lisa and that is the "Are We There Yet?" cutting file..
Because we live in Finland (moved here in 96) we try to visit friends and family that live in the States as much as possible..
Our very first trip back was in 2005, we went to spend the Christmas holidays there..
I decided it was time to scrap the photo of my three kids (then in their early teens) as we were waiting at the Helsinki airport to board our flight..

Here is what I created:
I was able to put my Glitz papers to good use along with these cute die cuts..
I also created a mask, that I used to dab brown paint to create the hexagon back ground :)
and rubbed a bunch of distress ink to the edges of the white card stock to age it a bit..

How about a few close ups:

Love the font in the title, its way too much fun..
I attached it to the layout with foam tape..
I also decided to add the tickets and a suitcase, just to have a nice cluster of embellishments, plus a scalloped trim to the bottom and that's in the Borders 2 cutting file..

The clipboard cutting file is a great and fun way to add a little journaling to the layout..
our flight left at 7am and we weren't at our best that early in the morning..LOL

We all had two suitcases each when we travel, we were gone for 5 weeks..
I love the stack the suitcases in the Are We there yet cutting file..
I love that fact that the cutting files are layered, so you actually get more to work with..

and there ya have it..
This was definitely one of my favorite layout's I've created in a long time.. Loved looking at our vacation photos and I'm so excited to get more of them scrapped..  :)
So, till next time..

Graduation Layout

Hi everyone.. Its Nanné here from Nanne's Creations and I have a graduation layout I want to share with you..
My kids are all in their early 20's, but I've never had the chance to scrap any of their graduation photos..
Bad mommy, I know..LOL
So, when I seen these ADORABLE graduation cutting files, I knew it was time to grab a photo and get it on paper..

This is what I created:
Since we live in Finland, graduation works a little differently here than in the States..
All of the boys wear suits instead of a cap and gown, then their teachers hand every student a red rose after the principle hands them their diplomas..  My sons teacher is standing behind him in the photo :)

I decided to use some of my Echo Park hybrid papers along with plain cardstock.. First I took 12x12 piece of brown cardstock, tore the edges and adhered it to the tan cardstock background.. I then cut some notebook paper trim which is in the Note Book Paper Cutting file and tucked that underneath the top of the cardstock and just added a strip of white cardstock to the bottom, to create the illusion that its one long piece of paper :)  Last but not least, doodled on the edge with a white marker..

How about some close ups and details:

I absolutely love this cute little guy, he's in the Graduates Cutting File.  I added the light blue trim to represent the color of my sons tie, gave him rosy cheeks with some pink chalk and that smile just says it all :)

I also added the scroll from the Hats Off Cutting File by tucking it behind the paper layers..
For the title, I used the banner pieces from the Simple Banners Shapes cutting file,  just flipped them upside down and tucked them underneath the circle trim.

Loved the badge, which is also in the Graduates Cutting File.   I had to incorporate it into this layout some how and I think it worked out perfectly with the saying on the banner :)   The stars used are in the Best Buddies cutting file..  Next to the badge is a banner that I will add journaling to and that its in the Sentiment Spots 3 Cutting File..

and of course I had to include a close up of my youngest son Adam..

Thank you so much stopping by today

Lego Mania Layout

Good Morning!

Melisa here with you this morning.  Today I have a layout to share with you.  Back in January for Matthew's 8th Birthday we took our boys to Legoland.  Matthew's current favorite thing to play with is Legos.  So we knew he would have fun at Legoland.

For my title I used the Lego Mania Title Cutting File.  I paper pieced the title and boy was it a lot of work but it was worth it.  I love all the layers to it.  I also used the Borders 5 Cutting file for my wave border on the left of the layout.

The Lego Guy and Lego Blocks were from the Master Builder Cutting File.  It's kind of hard to tell in the picture but everything is popped up on Pop Dots.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a great rest of the week.

Rock On- Layout

Hi fellow crafters. It's Nanné here from Nanne's Creations, and I have a "rockin" layout I wanna share with you today. My son learned how to play the guitar in middle school and they got to perform at the end of the school year in front of the whole school :)  I decided it was time to scrap one those photos and this is what I was able to create using the Rock On Cutting Files and the Fourth of July Kids Cutting Files.

The background mask I created using my cameo by cutting out some rectangles from the 12x12 white cardstock.  Once I had the mask cut, I adhered it to a 12x12 piece of red cardstock, creating the illusion of red brick.. Then added strips of dark blue cardstock to the edges of my layout and doodled the lines with a white marker.

How about some close ups:

I decided to chalk the edges of the fingers bringing them to life :) The hand and the guitar picks are in the Rock On Cutting Files. I also used the flourish from the Friends Forever Cutting Files.

This cute little guy can be found in the Fourth of July Kids Cutting Files, and I added a guitar and the musical notes from the Rock On Cutting Files.  I really wanted to use a Peachy Keen stamp for the face and thought this was perfect with the tongue hanging out..LOL

I love love love this big title, it can be found in the Rock On Cutting Files.

And I had to include a close up of my lil Rock Star who's not so little anymore. So there ya have it, my layout for today's post.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my project..

Robots and Gears

Hi crafters! Leah Schaeffer here today to share a project I've had in the works for awhile! Poor thing sat all designed and ready to go for weeks before I was able to get it together and create! Has that ever happened to you? Certainly with a good idea that looms in your head for what feels like forever before you actually go and make it! Right? LOL! Well, finally I get to share, hope you enjoy!

The key element to this layout is the large scale gear border. Using design software available for electronic cutters you have the option of welding. Welding connects single images together. So I welded the gears together, created a couple of layers of shadows, and then cut individual gears in different colors for the very top layer. Using adhesive foam tape in different thicknesses will also give some cool dimension to your project. Not to mention utilizing your embossing folders by adding texture to some of your die cut shapes. I even sanded those to help them stand out even more!

If you want to visit my blog, I have an extra bit of detail to share about adding more life to the robots and how to tweak your die cut images to fit into a project! The title here was created using free fonts from the net.  =)

(for the stars on the page)

Thank you for visiting the blog today! Happy Monday! =)

Smile, It's Spring

It's Nanné here from Nanne's Creations and I have a cute little Spring themed layout I created that I wanted to share with you today. I used lots of the fun cutting files and some of them were the Friday Freebies, so do remember to stop by every Friday to grab yours cause you never know when you'll get a cute idea on how to use one.

So, I decided to go with some softer Spring colors and some cute chicks (wink wink) and came up with this design:

I'll have to hunt down some photos for this layout or maybe even take a few new ones..LOL

How about some close ups and details:

This cute little chick is in the Cute Chicks Cutting Files, and the Easter eggs are in the Hoppy Easter Cutting Files.

And this cute little chick is the same, but I flipped the image.  This way, I could have them both facing towards the middle of the layout :) The grass is from the Flower Assortment Cutting Files.

The cute little bunny that I tucked behind one of the photo mats is also from the Hoppy Easter Cutting Filesand I decided to use a few clouds and those are in the Baby Shower Cutting Files.

I also added a large circle in the back of the layout, which is from the Layered Labels 3 Cutting Files.

I also wanted to add some spring flowers, and what better than a few tulips. :) Those are in the Flower Faces Cutting Files.

For the bottom of the layout, I decided to use one of the designer elements from the Layered Labels 1 Cutting Files and stretched it to about 10" big and then used the knife tool in the SIL software to cut just the bottom off which is what I wanted to use :)  I also added two flourishes to help decorate my title and those are in the Friends Forever Cutting Files.

And there ya have the cute little spring layout I created as my Design Team project for today's post. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.

Design Team Day!!!

Hey, everyone!  Welcome to another Design Team Day here at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  We have so many fun projects to share with you today, so let's get to it.  First, here's what I created:

If you follow PPPR on Facebook, you may have seen that I made some crafty resolutions for 2014.  One was to edit and print two months worth of photos each month, and another one was to create at least one scrapbook layout per month.  My plan is to create a one-page layout for the bigger events and topics and put the other photos for that event in pocket pages behind the layout. So, I've been able to stick with my resolution for one month, at least.  I used the fun Christmas Cookies Cutting Files for this layout.  I printed and cut the files because I need to make this process as simple and streamlined as possible, or I just won't stick with my resolution.  I'm so excited to actually have some photos in a book, and my family have really enjoyed looking through all of the photos I've printed so far.  Here's how the pages look in my scrapbook, if you are interested:

Here are the things I used to create the pages:

Okay, now, before I show you the amazing projects my DT created, I want to introduce you to the newest member of our team:  Leanne Garner from Created by Leanne.  She creates such fun and cute projects, and I'm so happy to have her on our team.  Welcome, Leanne!

Okay, here's what my amazing Design Team ladies created.  It would be so great if you could stop by their blogs and show them a little love. :)
