Time for school!

Hello! Ruth, here, and I hope you're having a great day!
Fall is definitely back to school time and with that comes school portraits when you've got kids. My layout today has a realistic portrait, but not necessarily the best. My 13 year old son is satisfied with it, though, so there will be no retakes.

What could be better for scrapping a school picture than the look of  cork? I just love that I can print a full page of cork for a background and even use it to fill a font for my projects.
I'll show you what I mean.
Perfection! A piece of notebook paper attached to a cork board and a cork title, too! And you better believe that you can find them in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store! You know what else you can find?
The texture of the ruler : Pumpkin Spice Out West Patterned Paper
The journaling star : School Titles Cutting Files
The speech bubble : Speech Bubbles Cutting Files
and the school papers are in the School Days Chalkboards and School Days Pattern Pack

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you'd like to see more detailed pictures of my layout, feel free to stop by my blog Paper and Musings.

Be sure to link up your fall projects using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files for the current challenge (follow the link in the side bar on the right.) I can't wait to see what you create!

PPPR Fun with Puns Blog Hop

Hey, everyone! Welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Fun with Puns Blog Hop. We have all sorts of fun and PUNNY projects to share with you today using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files. We also have a fun freebie and a chance for your to win a Gift Certificate to the PPPR store. Oh, and we're also kicking off our next challenge theme. So, grab a muffin and some coffee, and settle in to see some awesome PUNNY designs. Here's what I created for the hop:

I used several sets to create this fun little card. I created the card base using a shape from the Layered Labels 3 Cutting Files set. The little squirrel is from the Nuts About You set. I used the release compound path feature in Silhouette Studio to remove his little nose and tooth from the squirrel so I could make them a little smaller. That way, the glasses from the Bread and Butter Cutting File would fit more naturally on his little face. Of course, he wouldn't be adorkable enough without his little graphing calculator from the Secondary Supplies Cutting Files. I put all of the files together in my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software, created an offset outline, and did a print and cut with the whole image. That way, I could just pop it right on top of my card base without worrying about all of those tiny calculator pieces cutting out! I added a fun sentiment from the Pretty Cute Stamps Adorkable stamp set, and my fun and punninlicious card was all done!  Here are links to the products I used for my card:

Of course, I have a sweet little freebie just for you guys. This sweet little punny typewriter will be available for FREE on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 ONLY. Then, it will be available for purchase in the PPPR store. You can get this freebie HERE:

Congratulations!

Good Morning!

Recently a cousin of mine because the Principal at her school.  I thought I would make her a card with their school mascot to congratulate her.

For the card base I used the Star Spangled Card Base Cutting Files.  This is one of my go to files that I use a lot for cards.  The panda came from the Birthday Panda Cutting File.  The heart on his belly is from the Sweet Hearts Cutting Files.  The stack of books is from the Secondary Supplies Cutting Files.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to come back for the Fun with Puns Blog Hop this weekend.
