Book Bookmark Clips

Hi, Leah Schaeffer with you folks today to share something I made today with teachers in mind. I was inspired by the upcoming teacher appreciation week at school and while I was emailing doing room-mom duty, I had this idea! Of course, these are pretty darling for any reader out there and when my daughter saw them, she wanted one. So I know kiddo's would like it as well. These would be easy to laminate, however I cut extra layers so these are rather sturdy.

These are super easy to create using any design software from your electronic cutters. Simply put your images together, group and weld. That will create a base shape where you can then layer the other die cuts. Much easier then a bunch of single images.

The clip, books and apple were the 3 image sets that were welded together. To make this extra sturdy, 2 other layers cut in thicker card stock were added to the back. Also, if giving this as a gift, it leaves a fun spot to write a little something. These can also be sized into whatever you'd prefer. I did make these guys pretty large at over 10 inches in length.

Because of the length, they are better more tucked into the book then using the actual "clip". If you didn't want so much at the top, then you can size it differently or design something that doesn't sit as tall above the clip portion. I'm already thinking of doing more of these with a different design for my bible study girl friends!

And here are the files I've used...

"Mad" Halloween wishes card

Hi fellow crafters..
It's Nanné here today to share a fun Halloween card I created using the "Science lab" cutting file..
I've had this idea in my head for a while now and really wanted to share it with you, even thought we all just celebrated Halloween last weekend :)  It's never too late or too early to get crafting on next years cards right?

Here is the card I created:
I had so much playing with all of these cutting files..

Here are a few close ups:
I used the books from the Bookworm couple cutting file, then layered all kinds of beakers and jars on top and in front.. The skull is from the Skeleton Couple cutting file..

The eyes, how creepy but so cute right?..LOL Those eyes are from the beakers in the science lab cutting file and added a the flour container from the Baking fun cutting file as the creepy jar to keep them in :)
The font is a free font I found online and created the large label in the back of my card, which can be found in the Layered Labels two cutting file,  added some bubbles in there to go along with the theme and then of course, what creepy mad science lab card would be complete without glasses..which are also from the Science lab cutting file..

and their you have my creepy mad science themed Halloween card..
Thanks for stopping by today..
Till next time
Hugs

Nerdy Books

Hello PPPR Friends!

I hope you had a great summer and are adjusting well into the new school year!

It's Kathy, from Kathy and Kids, and today I am here to share with you a Nerdy Books shape card.

Details:
PPPR "Bookworm Couple" cutting files
I used both sets of books and stacked them.  I welded the bases of the cuts to create the stack base for the shape card.

I just love the sentiments from this stamp set!

Sunset School Bookworms

Hi all! It's Leah with you all today to share a fun school themed layout. School themed anything is such a favorite of mine and some of the new PPPR files are just too perfect! Darling on their own or just perfect to mix with some of the older sets (like the addition of the pencil on the page today). And speaking of the pencil, when you use any design software to help you design and cut your images, remember to play around with not only the sizing but with altering the shape in general. For example, I wanted a thicker pencil to ground my bookworms so I simply pulled the thin pencil into a chubby one. Easy!
These wormies are the best, ever! And the addition of the glasses makes them just that much better (plus, how cute to have the "cheeks" within the glasses!) Both worms were cut on printed paper and to add a little dimension to the bows, the back layer was cut twice. Then to adhere, I added a strong liquid adhesive to the center of the bow and then trimmed super small pieces of foam tape next to the center. That allows the center to hold down but the ends to pop!

With so much fun detail (like the ruler background) I didn't need much else for details. So after adding some enamel dots and letter stickers for the title, I was pretty much done! Well, got to add photos but I really wanted to use current ones so we've got another week before school starts. Luckily.

   And the always amazing files...

Thank you so much for visiting and can't wait to hear what you think of this creation! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Guest Designer - Leah Richardson-Andrews, New Files, and a Friday Freebie

It's getting to be that time....the second most wonderful time of the year...back to school time!

Leah Richardson-Andrews from My Craft and Chat Cafe created an adorable card to get you in the mood to tackle that ridiculous back to school list!

She used Bookworm Couple Cutting Files to create this card...it's simply adorable:

And...the Bookworm Couple (from last week's blog hop) is my only new file to share with you this week. But, I'm working on some cuties for next week! :) Here's what's new in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store:

Of course, there's a new FRIDAY FREEBIE in the store. This file will be available as a free download for one week, then it will be moved to the 99 Cent Downloads section of the store.  This freebie includes SVG., DXF, .JPG, and .PNG files. YAY!

Oh, and you know what? These files would be PERFECT to use in our current Smarty Pants Challenge. You can find all of the details about the challenge here:

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for more PPPR inspiration!
