Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #21: Christmas in July

Happy Tuesday!  I hope your holiday weekend was WONDERFUL!!!  There's a new challenge up at Celebrate the Occasion.  This week's challenge is to create a Christmas project without using the color red.  Here's what I came up with:

This is an A2 sized card (4.25" x 5.5").  I got the tree from Winter Frolic, but I changed it up a little bit.  I wanted a more fringy-looking tree, so I cut 1" strips of two colors of paper and punched them with my Martha Stewart grass punch.  Next, starting at the bottom of the tree, I layered the punched strips, alternating colors.  Then, I just turned the tree over and trimmed off the excess.  Finally, I added on all of the decorations, Stickled them like crazy, and added a little gem with my iRock.  I really love how the tree turned out! :o)

The sentiment came from Pink By Design's Christmas Wishes Stamp Set, and I got the twine from the Divine Twine Assortment Pack (also from PBD).  By the way, the background paper looks a little red in the photo, but I promise is really just dark pink. :o)

So, I really hope you'll head on over to Celebrate the Occasion to see what the other Design Team members created and join in on the fun yourself.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!
