One More Back to School Card

Okay, I know I've been doing back to school cards all over the place.  This is my last one for a while, I promise.

I created this card with the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Back 2 School Digital Clip Art Set. I simply drew some rounded rectangles and filled them in with the School Days Penmanship Digital Papers in Silhouette Studio Designer's Edition.  Then, I opened the png clip art files and centered them within each square.  I also filled the mat with a paper from the Summer Brights Argyle & Diamonds set. I used the print and cut feature of Silhouette Studio to cut out the squares and the mat.  Then, I just popped up the squares with foam tape, added some ribbon, and my card was all done!  Super easy!

Each week, I'll be spotlighting a product here and in my Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Graphics Newsletter.  I'd love it if I could have some guest designers create 1-2 projects with my files for me to use in my Newsletter.  I'll post the pics in the newsletter and on my blog, and I'll be sure to link back to your blog.  If you're interested, please e-mail me at lisanorris at prettypapergraphics dot com.

By the way, in honor of the holiday weekend, I have a coupon code going on right now.  Enter the code laborday1 when you check out, and you can save 20% on a purchase of $10 or more.  This coupon is only valid for one use per customer.  The coupon expires at 11:59 CST on Labor Day (Monday, September 3), so hurry! :)

Also, I have a Design Team Call going on right now.  You can find all of the details HERE.  I hope some of you will decide to apply! :)

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, everyone!

Cameo Creations Challenge ~ Back to School

YAY!!!  It's time for another Cameo Creations Challenge.  The theme of this challenge is Back to School....just make any project using your Silhouette machine that relates to back to school.  Here's what I came up with:

I wanted to make a card I could use as a thank you for teachers or other school workers or volunteers this school year. This card measures 5.75" square. I got the layout from a sketch I saw on Pinterest.  I just love the chevron pattern!  I added patterns to the chevron pieces, background paper, and apple using Silhouette Studio's print and cut feature, added a fun sentiment, some twine, ink, and brads, and my card was all done!

Here are all of the products I used on my card:
Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other Design Team members created.  We have a new challenge site, so be sure to become a follower so you won't miss a single challenge.  Then, create your own Back to School project with your Silhouette, and link it up.  You'll have 2 weeks to enter.  You could win a $15 Gift Certificate to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Graphics, where you can get cutting files, clip art, and digital papers.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow with another project. :)

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Design Team Call

Well, it's Wednesday, but I don't have a What's New Wednesday post ready for you because I haven't added anything to my store this week.  We took a little vacation this past weekend, and my daughters started back to school on Monday, so I needed to focus on family.  I'll be back with more files next Wednesday, though. :)

I do have something exciting to share with you today!   I've decided to start up a little design team to help me showcase my Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons cutting files, clip art, and digital papers.  YAY!!! Here's the details about my little DT Call:

For the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Design Team, I'm looking for crafters who:

1.  Are willing and able to use svgs/cutting files, clip art, and digital papers on projects.
2.  Have a blog where they post regularly.
3.  Are active on Facebook.  Pinterest, Twitter, and YouTube are pluses, too!
4.  Are able to post a project that uses PPPR files at least every other week on my blog and their own.
5.  Are willing to participate in at least one Blog Hop per month for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.
6.  Are not members of Design Teams for other similar companies/businesses.
7.  Are able to serve for at least 6 months.

Design Team members will regularly receive free files and discounts from www.prettypapergraphics.com.

Here's what you need to do if you're interested in being a part of the PPPR Design Team:

1. Choose 3 of your favorite projects.  They can be projects you've created in the past or new ones you make just for this DT Call. Be sure you include projects that show off a range of your talents, including your use of svgs/cutting files, clip art, and/or digital papers. I'd love to see a project using PPPR files, but that's not a requirement. :)
2.  E-mail the following information to dtcall@prettypapergraphics.com:
  • Your name
  • Short bio (tell me a little about yourself...family, work, hobbies, what you love...anything you'd like me to know)
  • Links to your blog, Facebook page and/or profile, Twitter page, Pinterest, YouTube channel, etc.
  • List other Design Teams you belong to (past and present).
  • List any craft-related forums, communities, or Facebook groups you are a member of (where you might be posting your PPPR projects).
  • What type of electronic cutter(s) you use
  • Attach photos of your 3 projects (mentioned above).  Include links to the blog posts of the projects, if applicable.
  • Attach a photo of yourself that I can post on my blog if you are chosen for the team.
Applications are due by Sunday, September 9, 2012, at 11:59 pm CST.  New Design Team members will be notified by e-mail and then announced on my blog on Wednesday, September 12, 2012.

Whew...I think that's it!  I hope some of you want to join my little team.  I can't wait to see your projects!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Guest Designer ~ Melisa Alzammar

Happy Friday!!! I have another AWESOME Guest Designer to share with you today.  Here's what Melisa Alzammar from Melisa's Crafty Creations made with the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Get Well Cutting Files:

Isn't this layout just so ADORABLE?  Melisa used the Sick Bug from the Get Well set, as well as last week's Feeling Icky Title freebie.

She used the Sick Whale file on this punny and fun shaped card.  It's WHALEY cute, huh? ;)

Be sure to head on over to Melisa's Crafty Creations to find out all of the details for these projects.  I hope you'll follow her, too, because she always has the cutest layouts and cards to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!  I'm off on a little mini-vacay to Paris this weekend, but I'll be back next week with some FABULOUS news!!!  I can't wait to share!

Hot August Nights ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Aug. 24

Hey, everyone!  It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge.  The theme for this challenge is Hot August Nights (vehicles).  We'd like you to use a vehicle die cut somewhere on your project.  Here's what I created:

My girls finally start back to school on Monday, so I have school on the brain!  I thought this card would be perfect for a teacher or school worker/volunteer.  This card measures 5 x 5.75"...a little unconventional, but it will still fit nicely in a 6x6 inch envelope.  I cut the bus with my Silhouette Cameo and used the print and cut feature to print the background papers.  This is actually the second bus I cut and pieced together because my clogged Stickles bottle decided to ploop glitter ALL OVER the first one.  I even tested it first! It just wasn't my lucky day.  :(

Anyway, here's what I used in my project:

Now, it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team Members created.  Then, link up your own project that uses a vehicle die cut.  You have 2 weeks to submit your project...I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Good Friends & Good Shoes

Hi, there, everyone!  It's my day to post over at Pink by Design, and I have a quick and simple card to share with you today.  Here it is:

This fun sentiment and the shoe image are both from Pink by Design's Designer Boots Stamp Set.  I created the background by lining up strips of washi tape.  Did you know you can stamp right on top of washi tape if you use StazOn ink?  Yep!  There are just SO many possibilities with this stuff!  I added some ribbon and some bling, and my card was all done.  Here's a list of the products I used for this card:
Check out this week's Ink it Pink Challenge HERE.  The challenge is to incorporate school supplies on a card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

What's New Wednesday #7

Welcome to What's New Wednesday #7!  I have added a few new files to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store this week.  Here they are:

 Birthday Panda Digital Clip Art

I've learned that Silhouette Studio has changed their License Agreement.  Because of this change, I'm no longer able to sell .STUDIO files.  I'll also be removing all .STUDIO files from the sets already in my store.  This will take quite a while, though.  I'll be adding PDF files to the sets. You will still be able to use my files with Silhouette Studio, though.  You can open .DXF files with the free version, and SVGs can be opened with the Designer's Edition.  I'm planning on making a video soon that will share some tips for using DXF files with Studio.

I also added some more digital papers to my store:

Also, I'm going to be offering a freebie in my store every Friday.  The freebie will be available to download for free for one week, then  it will only cost 99 cents!  Sign up for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Graphics Newsletter to get notice of the freebie every Friday, as well as coupon codes, sales, project ideas, and sneak peeks.

By the way, you can use the coupon code yippeeyay to get 20% off your purchase of $10 or more at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  This coupon expires at midnight CST on August 17, so hurry!  It is also good for only one checkout per customer.  Go take a look around...you never know what you might find. :)

OH!!! Also...if you make a project with any of my files, be sure to post it to the PPPR Facebook Page and link Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons in the photo.  I'll be choosing one project each week to feature in my newsletter. :)  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll have a project for you later today. :)

No More .studio Files :(

Well, it seems that I am not allowed to sell .studio files per Silhouette's new license agreement. So, I'll be starting the LONG process of removing all .studio files from my cutting file products and changing the packaging.  I'll be starting the changes in the next few days.  So, if you were wanting any of the .studio files, you only have a short time to get them.  If you have the original Silhouette Studio (not the Designer's Edition), you'll still be able to use the .dxf version of my files...they just won't have pretty colors. ;)  Of course, I'll still be selling SVGs, and I'll be adding PDFs to the sets.

Double Marvelous

I'm BAA-ACK!  I'm so excited about the projects I have to share with you that I can hardly contain myself. YAY!!!!!  Okay, okay...here they are:

Aren't they pretty?  I'm so super excited about these because I made them almost entirely with my new papers from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Natural Love Digital Paper Collection.  I just love how they turned out!

I got the layout for this card from the Silhouette Online Store. I filled the pieces with papers from the Natural Love Floral Brocade, Flourish, and Pattern Packs.  I added a sentiment from Pink by Design's My Favorite Kind stamp set and some butterflies from the PBD Just Breathe set and lots of ink.  I popped up the sentiment label and curved the petals on the flower for some added dimension.

I used the same papers on this little box, but I switched them around a little.  Notice that the box has the same pattern as the flower on the card, it's just in a larger scale.  That's one thing I love about using these digital papers in Silhouette Studio...you can scale them in different ways and get lots of different looks from the same papers.  Plus, all of the papers in each Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Digital Paper Collection coordinate beautifully together.  So, no digging through my piles of papers to find things that match.  I just had to open a folder on my computer.  :)

If you'd like to see how I used the papers in Silhouette Studio, I made a video tutorial last week that takes you through all of the steps.  I hope you'll check it out to see just how easy it is.

Each week, I'll be spotlighting a product here and in my Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Graphics Newsletter.  I'd love it if I could have some guest designers create 1-2 projects with my files for me to use in my Newsletter.  I'd post the pics in the newsletter and on my blog, and I'd be sure to link back to your blog.  If you're interested, please e-mail me at lisanorris at prettypapergraphics dot com.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
