School is Cool ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge Aug. 10

It's time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge!  YAY!!!  The theme of this challenge is School is Cool.  Here's my project:

Isn't this froggy sooo cute?  I got the frog and the sentiment from the Lettering Delights Toad-ally Cool Cut It Set.  I cut the frog with my Silhouette Cameo and used the print-and-cut feature of Silhouette Studio to print the sentiment.  I added some twine, doodles, jewels, buttons, and lots of ink, and my little card was all done!

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, whip up your own project using a die cut with a school theme, and link it up.  You have two weeks to enter. I can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

Have an awesome day!  I'll be back a little later with another project to show you.

Cameo Creations Cupcake Blog Hop

Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Cameo Creations Cupcake Blog Hop. At Cameo Creations Challenges we are all about the Silhouette, all the time! If you have any Silhouette machine, whether it be the original Silhouette SD or the new Silhouette Cameo, join us in on the fun.

If you've come from Kristy's blog you are in the right place. If you would like to start at the beginning, you can head back to Monica's blog. Believe me, you won't want to miss a single stop along the way. Plus, you might just find some bog candy! Then, when you're finished hopping, you can link up your own Silhouette-created cupcake-themed project at Cameo Creations for a chance to win some Bugaboo Digis, some Trendy Twine, or some Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Scalloped Octagons!

Our projects for this hop are all about cupcakes. Here's my project:

I got this fun little cupcake and lizard from Lettering Delights' Leaping Lizards Cut It Set.  I used the offset tool in Silhouette Studio to create a shadow of the cupcake's background shape, then, I mirrored it above and welded the two together to create a card.  I filled the little lizard and other shapes with digital papers from LD's Leaping Lizards Paper Pack and cut him out using the print and cut feature in Silhouette Studio. I stamped the sentiment, which is from Pink by Design's Oh Boy Stamp Set, on a banner from the 2 Banner Set in the Silhouette Online Store. I embossed the icing with my Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder, and the banner with my Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder.  I added some ink and some doodles, and the card was all done!

Oh, and I also popped up the layers of the lizard's eyes with some foam tape so he looks more like a chameleon would look. So cute!

Okay, I have a little BLOG CANDY of my own to share with you!

Let's Hang Out

Happy Monday!!!!  Today is my Design Team day over at Pink by Design, and I have a simple little card to share with you.  Here it is:

The minute I saw this cute Rag Doll Digital Paper Pack from Lettering Delights, I knew I wanted to pair it with this sentiment from Pink by Design's Found You Stamp Set.  Don't they go together perfectly?  The little boy and girl dolls are hanging out together, right?  LOL!  Sooo cute!  I used Silhouette Studio to size down the paper to 5.5" so it would fit (with a nice border) on this 5.75" square card.

Then, I printed a second copy and cut out the little boy and girl rag dolls.  I used foam tape to attach them to the base image, to give this simple card a little dimension.  Then, I just added some jewels, and my card was all done!  Easy peasy!!!

By the way, did you know that another Ink it Pink Challenge is going on right now?  The theme this week is Red, White, and Blue.  You have until Tuesday at noon to link up a Red, White, and Blue project.  We can't wait to see what you create! :)

Monkey Birthday Party

Last night we had our very first slumber party in the Norris household.   Whew...9 giggling girls!  My hubby and I are EXHAUSTED!  Anyway, my daughter turned 11, and she wanted a monkey-themed birthday party. So, I thought I'd share some of the things I made for her..  First of all, here's the card I made for her.

This is an A2 sized card. I got the cute little monkeys from the Lettering Delights Monkey Around Cut It Set.  The little flag said something Valentine's-y, so I removed that layer, enlarged the flag, and added a sentiment from my Pink by Design Labels Stamp Set.  I added an orange bow (that's my daughter's favorite color), and her card was all done!

I also made invitations for her party.  I decided to go the digital route with them, though, so I could just design them, print them out, and be done.  It turned out to bee a good thing, too, because I had to redo them after they were already given out because of a conflicting school activity on the night we first scheduled the party on.  No problem, though, because I just changed the dates and reprinted.  Much better than re-making hand-made ones.

Anyway, I couldn't find a monkey graphic that I really liked for my daughter's birthday, so I decided to try drawing one in Inkscape.  Well, I did, and I think she came out really cute!  Then, I just created an invitation in Adobe Photoshop Elements, and I had an invitation I could print.  Here's what it looked like (with the personal info blocked out).

Then, I made coordinating treat bag toppers.  I simply imported my little monkey graphic into Silhouette Studio, traced it, and used the print and cut function to cut several of them out.  Then, I created a topper by using this file as a base, using the inset and knife tools to create the orange shape and pink bands, printed and cut the colored parts, and assembled them with adhesive and foam tape.  Then, I added a sentiment from Pink by Design's Big Thoughts Stamp Set.  Here's what they looked like:

Finally I made cupcakes for Madison's party.  I saw some really cute monkey cupcakes on Pinterest, so I decided to try making some of my own.  I made some brown and some orange (my daughter's favorite color).  Madison helped me give them all different expressions.  Here they are:

That's all I made for the party.  We had a lot to do around the house before her guests came (since it was a slumber party)...lots of games to set up and food to cook.   So, I kept my handmade stuff to a minimum.

Well, it's time for me to go take a nap.  We all stayed up WAY too late last night.  I hope the rest of your Sunday is spectacular!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Sushi--Cameo Creations Challenge

Happy Thursday!  I hope you are counting down the minutes to a fun-filled holiday weekend...I know I am!!  Today, I have another Cameo Creations project to share with you.  The theme of this challenge is to create a scrapbooking layout...anything goes, as long as you use a Silhouette electronic cutter.  Here's the layout I came up with (if you click on the photos, you will see a larger view):

I LOVE sushi, so, of course, I chose to have sushi for our Mother's Day dinner this year.  I've been dying to scrapbook one of our sushi experiences.  This is a 12 x 12 inch layout.  I created the circle in the background by using this 12 x 12 background shape (the spiky one in the set) from the Silhouette Online Store (SOS).  I filled it with a digital paper from Lettering Delights' Ninja Kicks Paper Pack, then I printed and cut it with my Cameo.  I made it as large as I could while still fitting it on an 8.5 x 11" piece of card stock (since that's the largest my current printer will accommodate).   I then drew a circle in Silhouette Studio that was a bit bigger than the spiky circle and cut it from black paper.

I also cut this open squares border (SOS) from black paper to add to the red strip of card stock that stretches along the bottom of my layout.  I had to resize it a bit so it would be close to 12" wide, but I sort-of like the way the squares morphed into rectangles.

I used fonts on my computer to create the title in Silhouette Studio.  I love that I can cut whatever font I want with my Cameo.  It makes creating scrapbook layouts that much easier!

Of course, I had to use the stamp sets I designed for Pink by Design: Let's Do Sushi and Got Sushi?.  One of the reasons I created them was so I could use them to document some of our fun sushi times.  My favorite one here is my hubby's photo...doesn't he look like he's delivering the perfect pick-up line?  LOL!

I got these cute little sushi images from the Lettering Delights Bento Box Graphic Set.  I used Silhouette Studio's print and cut feature to cut these little guys out.  So cute!

Well, I hope you'll head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other Design Team members created. Then, we'd love it if you'd link up your own Silhouette-created layout!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Plus, you could be chosen to win a $20 gift certificate to SVG Cuts!  You have two weeks to enter. :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!!!

Teacher Thank Yous

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday!  Today is my Design Team Day over at Pink by Design, so I wanted to share some teacher thank you cards I made for my daughters' teachers last week.  Well, I made two for my daughters' teachers (the other two are just extras I made because I couldn't choose among the cute graphics and stamps!).  Here are my cards:

These cards all measure 5.5" square. I got all of the sweet sentiments and hearts for these cards from the Pink by Design Our Teachers Stamp Set. All of the cute graphics came from the Lettering Delights Bookworms Graphics Set.  You can actually get these graphics (and a whole lot more) for just 50 cents right now!  There are also a bunch of bundles on sale.  You should definitely go check it out...there are tons you could use with the Print and Cut feature on the Silhouette.

Anyway, here are some close ups of the cards:

I patterned these cards around a sketch I found a long while ago here. I was actually able to open the image of the sketch in Silhouette Studio so I could find cut files that would fit the sketch and size them perfectly.  I drew the rectangle shapes with the rectangle and rounded rectangle tools, and I got the scalloped square and the star in the Silhouette Online Store.  I embossed the green pieces with my Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossing folder, and the stars are embossed with one of the embossing folders from the Cuttlebug Simply Charmed set.  Then, I added some ink and doodles, and my teacher thank yous were all done! :)

I'm also entering these guys in the Spectacular Spectacles Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to stop by Pink by Design every day for some awesome design team inspiration!

Later, Alligator

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!  I hope you're having a marvelous one!  Today, I just wanted to share a card I made for some friends of mine.  One of the hard things about being a military family is the fact that we move around so much.  We make wonderful friends at each station, but we always have to leave those friends or say goodbye as they move on.  Well, this week, I had to say goodbye to a couple of wonderful friends.  I'm so sad to see them go...and I hope we will meet up again someday soon.  So, instead of making a "Goodbye" card, I decided to give them a see you later card.  Here it is:

I got this cute alligator from the Lettering Delights Love Bites Cut Its set, and I embossed him with my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  The fun sentiment came from Pink by Design's Crikey Stamp Set.

Here's the inside of the card.  This sentiment also came from the Crikey Stamp Set.  I added some ink, ribbons, and buttons, and my little card was all done.  I hope you like it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!  Come back tomorrow for another project. :)

Happy Birthday, Old Chap!

Happy Monday!  Today is my design team day over at Pink by Design, and I have a fun shadow card to share with you today.  Here it is:

When I saw this cute little mustache-y mushroom from the Lettering Delights Bloom and Growl Cut It Set, I knew that I had to get out my Pink by Design Mustaches Stamp Set (that's where I got the sentiment and the little stamped mustache).  The shadow card base and the banner came from the Silhouette Online Store.  The banner turned out to be a little big for my sentiment, so I added some brads to fill in the empty space.  Oh, I also stamped the circle with my Pink by Design Houndstooth Background Stamp.

Just for kicks, I added this cute sentiment from my Pink by Design Plum Perfect Stamp Set to the inside.  I'm hoping it will be a fun little surprise for the recipient of the card.

Here's another view of the card so you can see how the shadow card works.  You can flatten it out and mail it easily.

So, that's my little card...I hope you like it!  By the way, you don't want to miss the Pink by Design Ustream and Stamp Release on Friday, April 20.  There are TONS of great sets coming out, including a couple of REALLY SPECIAL ones that I can't WAIT to share with you!!!!!!  So excited!  I hope you'll stop by for the release! :)

Stinkin' of You ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge April 6

YAY!!!  It's Friday...a very GOOD Friday!  Today is my Design Team day over at Stuck On U Sketches.  We have a Spring-Themed Die Cut Challenge that's starting today.  Here's my project:

I got this sweet little skunk in the flowers from the Lettering Delights Peep Squeakers Cut It Set and cut her out with my Silhouette Cameo. Isn't she adorable???  Just perfect for spring.  The fun sentiment came from Pink by Design's Woodland Critters stamp set. I used this label set from the Silhouette Online Store for the card base.  I mirrored the shape and then welded the two together to create a card.  I inked up all of the pieces and added some doodles, and my card was all done.  I hope you like it.

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to Stuck On U Sketches, and link up your own Spring-Themed die cut project. I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Pink by Design Spring Inspiration Blog Hop

Hey, everyone!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, and the Pink by Design Spring Inspiration Blog Hop.  If you are coming from Pink by Design, you are in the right place.  If you've just stumbled upon my post, then I'd love it if you'd start at the beginning, HERE.

This month's Pink by Design Blog Hop/Challenge has a Spring Theme and an inspiration photo.  You can enjoy all of the AWESOME projects in the hop, then you can go create your own project based on the photo and link it up at Pink by Design.  Sarah has something special for one lucky linker. :)  Here's my card and the inspirational photo behind it:

I took my inspiration from the pennant banners, umbrella, and colors from the photo.  I got the bird and umbrella from the Lettering Delights Cloud Nine SVG Set, and I cut them using my Silhouette Cameo.

The beautiful banners are actually stamps from the Pink by Design Small Banners Stamp Set.  I stamped the banners on different patterns of cardstock, trimmed them with my scissors, punched small holes in the top corners, and threaded them onto some Brown Sugar Divine Twine that I purchased from the Pink by Design Store.

Here's a better look at the inside.  You can see that I created the front of the card by cutting the square front in half diagonally.  The sentiment on the card came from Pink by Design's Hoppy Easter Stamp Set.  I've used this one so much lately...I just LOVE it!

Okay, well, I can't be a part of a blog hop without offering a little BLOG CANDY, now, can I?

Cameo Creations Challenge: St. Patrick's Day Decor

Happy March 1, everyone!  Can you believe it's already March???  This year has just been flying by, and we even had an extra day in there!  Whew!

Today is a great day for another Cameo Creations Challenge.  This time, the challenge is to create a home decor item with a St. Patrick's Day theme.  Here's what I came up with:

I created this little door/wall hanging with svgs and Silhouette Studio files.  The leprechaun, rainbow, pot of gold, shamrocks, and banner all came from the Lettering Delights Luck of the Irish Cut It Set.  The clouds came from this file I found in the Silhouette Online Store.  I created the base of the hanging by arranging the rainbow and clouds on my virtual mat in Silhouette Studio and then using the offset tool to create a shadow layer around all four shapes.  Then, I cut ten of those shadow layers out of kraft cardstock so my wall hanging would feel more like a thin wooden sign.  I glued all of the pieces together, added another layer cut out of blue patterned paper, and I had a nice, sturdy base for my wall hanging.

I used fun glitter and reflective paper for the rainbow.  I like the sparkle that it adds.

The leprechaun's tights, jacket trim, buckle, and button are also sparkly.  He is sooo fashionable!  Ha!  I stamped his cute little face with a stamp from my Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face Assortment.

The gold, of course, is also glittery.  I inked all of my cuts up with my ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks, added some doodle lines and a ribbon for hanging, and my door/wall handing was all done!  I hope you like it!

Now it's your turn!  Head on over to enter the Cameo Creations Challenge.  The only requirements are that you create a home decor item with a St. Patrick's Day theme using your Silhouette machine (any model).  Then, link it up so we can all see your fabulous creation!  Plus, you'll be entered to win a super fun prize! You have until March 15 to enter...I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
