She's got some Smarty Pants!

Yep, even though the challenge is over, I could not resist these super fun new files Lisa added to the shop!
I mean look at them!
Science Lab Cutting Files
Science of Love Cutting Files
They were so perfect for the story of my daughter and her Sophomore Chemistry class. Here's what I did with the new files and a couple of others.

And here's a closeup.

I printed the chemistry lab related images and the atom image on vellum (I know - I need to seek some help for my vellum dependency) and the radioactive symbol on photo paper and then had my Cameo cut them out. (I used the "no" symbol because her class did hardly any labs and somehow my daughter did an awesome job without all the fun of doing labs and received an achievement ribbon so good for her!)

The other shapes I used are:

So do you have some ideas brewing for how to use these files? I sure hope I've inspired you and I hope you'll share your projects in the challenges here or in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Facebook group whenever you create anything with Lisa's files!

Happy crafting!

Naughty? or Nice?

Your neighbor elf, Leah Schaeffer, here today to share a layout with you all!
I am so glad to be here today! Literally dancing around in anticipation to share my holiday projects with  you all this month!
This project is pretty much a paper only project but using lots of glitter paper and glitter glue helps the page fully come alive! As I often do in my layouts, if any of you are starting to notice, I love doing oversized elements on a page. It really allows Lisa's incredible cutting files to come alive and all those amazing details to be shown! This Santa on it's own is so special! Imagine just Santa in the middle of a holiday card with a great pattern paper behind him, it's all you would need!

I began with the Starburst Shapes Cutting Files background and then added my elements. Remember that when you are seeing a cutting file, think that you can often take the pieces apart to use separately. Just as I pulled the stack of gifts out of Santa's hands in the Jolly St. Nick Cutting Files (used one Santa and the gifts from the other Santa option). You'll see what I mean with the cutting file image at the end of the post.

For all you alcohol marker fans, don't forget that you can add detail to your die cuts using your marker. I added some grey shading to the white on Santa with my markers. As well as using a thin line of glitter to outline the white trim of his clothing.

Okay! This project is file heavy…here's what I used!

Really appreciate you visiting today while I'm on my way to Disneyland! Woot! Woot! =)

Time for school!

Hello! Ruth, here, and I hope you're having a great day!
Fall is definitely back to school time and with that comes school portraits when you've got kids. My layout today has a realistic portrait, but not necessarily the best. My 13 year old son is satisfied with it, though, so there will be no retakes.

What could be better for scrapping a school picture than the look of  cork? I just love that I can print a full page of cork for a background and even use it to fill a font for my projects.
I'll show you what I mean.
Perfection! A piece of notebook paper attached to a cork board and a cork title, too! And you better believe that you can find them in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store! You know what else you can find?
The texture of the ruler : Pumpkin Spice Out West Patterned Paper
The journaling star : School Titles Cutting Files
The speech bubble : Speech Bubbles Cutting Files
and the school papers are in the School Days Chalkboards and School Days Pattern Pack

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you'd like to see more detailed pictures of my layout, feel free to stop by my blog Paper and Musings.

Be sure to link up your fall projects using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files for the current challenge (follow the link in the side bar on the right.) I can't wait to see what you create!

Let the Good Times Roll

Happy Monday folks, Nicole here today and I have a fun card to share with you that I made for my hubby's birthday.  I made a taller sized card and used dimensions based off of a business envelope I had in my stash.  I wanted to make my beer glass the focal point and thus make it as large as possible.  My hubby is a "home brewer" so this is a very fitting card for him.

Files used ~
PPPR "Happy Hour" cutting files
PPPR "Speech Bubbles" cutting files
