Thanksgiving Décor

Hi, and Happy Thursday!

Gloria here from Gloria's Goofy Craft Spot. I hope everyone is doing well.

Today I would like to share a little Thanksgiving décor. I cut out the pumpkin from the 3D Pumpkin Gift Box Cutting Files in three different sizes and did most of the inking before gluing together.
I'm loving the new A2 Card Bases 1 Cutting Files, this is what I used to stamp the sentiment on. The A2 Card Bases 1 Cutting Files can totally be used for place cards.

For the leaves and stems I stamped the with a pattern from Stampendous pattern trio stamp set.

What I used:

PPPR Fall Entertaining Blog Hop

YAY! It's Saturday! That means that it's time for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Fall Entertaining Blog Hop. My fantastic Design Team and I are sharing all sorts of Fall themed projects that would be perfect for decorating a Fall or Thanksgiving get together or dinner. We have a prize up for grabs and a little freebie just for you guys. We'll also be kicking off our next challenge. So, be sure to check out each and every project along the way today...you don't want to miss a THING!

For my project, I decided to repurpose a lollipop holder to create some sweet little place cards. Click on the photo to see it larger.

I used the Turkey Lollipop Holder Cutting Files to create the place cards. They sit up perfectly, so they are great for marking your guests' places at the table. Plus, your guests will get a sweet little treat to take home with them, afterwards. I wanted the little turkeys to look like boys and girls, so I added some hats from the Thanksgiving Wear Cutting Files. And, for the name portion, I used a sign from the Gnomies Cutting Files set. I printed them with names right on the front and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo. I just love the print and cut feature!  Of course, I placed them right by my 3D Pumpkin Gift Box, which I intend to fill with some yummy pre-wrapped treat on Thanksgiving Day (since it IS made of paper...no goopy or sticky stuff is going in there!).  Here are links to all of the files I used for my project:

Of course, I have a fun little freebie just for you guys. This Pilgrim Hat Treat Bag will be available for FREE on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9 ONLY. Then, it will be available for purchase in the PPPR store. You can get this freebie HERE:

This hop also kicks off our new Fall Challenge. Link up your Fall-themed project that uses PPPR files for a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. You can link up and read all of the guidelines HERE:

Give Thanks Pocket Scrapbooking Layout

Soooooo...I JUST realized that I totally did not meet my New Year's Resolutions from last year. The fact that I JUST realized this shows just how busy I've been, I guess. One of my resolutions was to create at least one scrapbook layout (traditional or pocket-style) a month. You want to know how many I've finished this year up until now? One. Yep, just one. Well, now I can happily say that I've finished two, so I'm only about 6 months behind...LOL. Oh, well. In order to get SOME photos in a book, I decided to go with a pocket scrapbooking layout. I have some Thanksgiving photos from last year in my box of printed photos, so I thought I'd get those in some page protectors for an album. This turned out to be really simple because I used the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Thankful Pocket Cards to help me out. Here's my layout:

These files come as PNG files, so I just opened them in my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software. Once I had them opened, I resized them to measure 3x4ish and 4x6ish. The images are a little smaller than this so they would fit in the pockets as-is. So, I could have just printed out the PDF file that comes with the set and cut them out with my paper trimmer, but I wanted rounded corners without having to use my corner rounder. Anyway...once I had them resized, I drew some rounded rectangles using the Rouded Rectangle Tool in the software, and I sized them to 2.9 x 3.9 and 3.9 x 5.9. That way, there would be a "bleed" around my cards so I wouldn't get those pesky white outlines that sometimes show up when you print and cut. Here's what my screen looked like. It's a little hard to see here, but there is a slight border of color/pattern around the cut lines...you can click the photo to see a larger image. (I colored the lines blue so they'd show up better for you. Don't do that to yours, or the color will print.)

And, that's it...one more layout down, six to go. Whew! Someday, I'll find those extra hours in the day that I seem to be missing. LOL.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, and Happy Labor Day to my US friends. :D

Cameo Creations Thanksgiving Blog Hop

Hey, everyone!!! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend so far!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Cameo Creations Thanksgiving Blog Hop.   If you've come here from Jessica's blog, you are in the right place.  If you just stumbled upon my post and would like to start from the beginning, head on over to Cameo Creations.  This hop is all about creating Thanksgiving projects with our Silhouette cutting machines, and we have a fun challenge and some blog candy up for grabs!  YAY!  I decided to make an easel card for this hop/challenge. Here's my project:

I created the base for this card (the background piece) by welding together this doily shape I found in the Silhouette Online Store with a rectangle in Silhouette Studio.  Then, I filled it with a digital paper from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) Pumpkin Spice Cream Polka Dots pack and used the print and cut feature in Silhouette Studio to cut it out.  The plaid sections of the card were also created using print and cut.  I filled those shapes with the a pattern from the PPPR Pumpkin Spice Gingham & Plaid Digital Paper Pack.

This sweet little pilgrim couple came from the PPPR First Thanksgiving Cutting Files Set.  Their faces were a little small to cut out their facial features at this size, so I used the print and cut feature for their faces.  I just grouped the face, eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouths together, printed them out, and cut them.  I had to do a little maneuvering with the "release compound path" function to make sure the pupils on the girl's face wouldn't cut out, but it worked out.  I'm really happy with how their little faces turned out.  I also printed their hands and legs so the skin colors would match.  This is also a great trick to use if you don't have the right card stock color for their skin (I always have trouble with that).

The scalloped shape on this label was originally a circle I found in the Silhouette Online Store, and I just smooshed it so it would be an oval.  It is filled with the same pattern as the background. I drew the white oval in Silhouette Studio and stamped this sentiment from Pink by Design's Bountiful Blessings Stamp Set.  The banner behind the ovals is from the PPPR Sentiment Spots 1 Cutting Files Set and was filled with a paper from the the PPPR Pumpkin Spice Diamonds & Paisley Digital Paper Pack.  I love using these digital paper collections because everything is color coordinated and looks great together.

Here's a side view of the card.  I added some jute ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and some brads, and my easel card was all done!  I hope you like it!

Our BLOG CANDY for this hop and challenge is a $15 Gift Certificate to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, a $20 Gift Certificate to Scraptastical Kreations, and $21 worth of digital stamps from Bugaboo Stamps. There are a couple of ways to win.  You can leave a comment on every blog along the hop, and you can enter our challenge.  How do you do that?  Just create a Thanksgiving-themed project with your Silhouette machine and link it up over at Cameo Creations.  Easy peasy!  We hope you'll join in on the fun!

Your next stop in the hop is Sandra.

Here's the entire lineup, just in case you get lost along the way. :)

Gobble 'til You Wobble

Happy Monday, everyone!  I'm super excited to be writing my first post as a Design Team member of the Action Wobbles Blog.  YAY!!!  I'm also so excited that Thanksgiving is almost here...YUM!  I can't wait! So, I have a fun little Thanksgiving card to share with you today.

My favorite Thanksgiving sentiment is Gobble 'til You Wobble.  So, I used it on this funny little card:

I created the card base for this 5.75" card by welding together two mirror images of this shape that I found in the Silhouette Online Store.  I added a circle burst shape that I also found in the Silhouette store.  I just can't seem to get enough of sunburst shapes!

This cute little Tom Turkey comes from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons (PPPR) First Thanksgiving Cutting Files Set.  Of course, I HAD to put him on an Action Wobble since he's been gobbling 'til he wobbled.  I thought he was just perfect for this sentiment, which is from Pink by Design's Bountiful Blessings Stamp Set.  I stamped the sentiment on a banner from the PPPR Sentiment Spots 1 Cutting Files Set.  I added some 3 Girl JAM Hot Chocolate crinkle ribbon, some doodles, and lots of ink, and my little card was all done.

Here's a little peek of what the Action Wobble looks like under there.

Now, he's ready to wobble!

 Gobble, gobble!

Aren't Action Wobbles so fun?  You can find them at Royal Castle Shoppe or at the World of  Wobbles Site.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll be back Wednesday with some DT projects and some new files. See you then!

Hello Kitty and Friends Blog Hop

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Hello Kitty and Friends Blog Hop!  I just love Hello Kitty, and I'm so happy to get the chance to use my Hello Kitty cartridge again!

We have lots of FABULOUS projects and prizes for you today, so make sure you stop by each and every blog.  This hop lasts 2 days, so you'll have plenty of time to get through all of the blogs.  If you've arrived here from Ashley's blog, then you're in the right place. If you've just stumbled upon this post and would like to start at the beginning, check out Emily's blog.

I've been in a very Thanksgiving-y mood lately, so I wanted to try to incorporate Thanksgiving into my Hello Kitty project.  The problem is that there are no Thanksgiving images on the Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge, and I wasn't able to find any HK Thanksgiving SVGs anywhere.  So, I just had to figure out how to make my own!  Here's my project:

This is an A2 sized card.  I got the turkey and pumpkin from Create a Critter, the Hello Kitty base image from Hello Kitty Greetings, and the pilgrim attire from Paper Doll Dress Up.  The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Bountiful Blessings stamp set, and the ribbon is from Pink By Design's Halloween Crinkle Ribbon Set (which happens to work really well for Thanksgiving, too).

I got the idea for this Hello Kitty character from this image I found trough Google:

Aren't those little pilgrims so adorable?  To get a similar HK pilgrim girl, I used the graduation Hello Kitty from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cart:

Then, I used my Gypsy to size the hat and collar of the pilgrim girl from Paper Doll Dress Up to fit this Hello Kitty Cut.

I cut Hello Kitty's clothes in dark gray to look all pilgrim-like, and I cut the collar and hat from white.  Once the images were all cut out, I had to do some trimming with my craft knife to make the collar look like it belonged on Hello Kitty.  It needed to have that black outline around it, like all of the HK cuts have:

Then, I needed that same black outline around the hat, so I adhered it to black cardstock and trimmed around it with scissors:

I also had to trim the line on the inside with my craft knife so it would show up:

Once I did that, my Hello Kitty Pilgrim girl was all done!  I decided to use a pink Martha Stewart Opaque Marker for her nose and some pink chalk for her cheeks so she didn't look like she came out of an old black and white cartoon.  Here's my card again so you can see what I mean:

Doesn't she look like she has gobbled 'til she wobbled?  :)

Okay, now how about some BLOG CANDY??? YAY!  One lucky follower will get this Pink By Design Honey Pie Stamp set.  You know, anything that says "pie" makes me think of Thanksgiving! Ha!

Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1.  Be a follower of my blog and leave a comment letting me know.  Make sure you leave your e-mail address for me.

If you'd like EXTRA CHANCES to win, you can do any of the following.  Just make sure you leave me a new comment each time you do something extra so you get extra entries in my "drawing".
