Scrappy Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the very first Scrappy Birthday Blog Hop. This hop is in honor of April's birthday and celebrates her favorite color - GREEN!

If you are coming from A Scrapping Time, you’re on the right track. If you stumbled on this post and would like to start at the beginning (at April's blog...Curls and Grins), click HERE and hop along with us. We’ve all had so much fun doing this hop, and we have a wonderful line up with some oh-so-talented designers. You will see some lovely projects and have a chance to win some blog candy along the way, including a fun grand prize for this hop.

Here's my GREEN birthday project in honor of April's birthday:

Guess what!?!?!  This is the VERY FIRST box I've ever made, and I just LOVE how it turned out. I got all of the files for this cute little treat box from Lettering Delights.  The box came from the Handled Boxes SVG Set, the cute alligator came from the Let's Play SVG Set, and the party hat came from the Holiday Hats SVG Set.  I embossed the alligator using the Cuttlebug and the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  The sentiment came from My Pink Stamper's More Punnylicious Stamp Set.  The box is pretty tiny, but I had to make it that small to fit on a piece of 12" x 12" paper (in fact, it would have fit on a 12" x 6" piece).  I still think it would be perfect for small candies, jewelry, or even a gift card.  I hope you like it. :o)

Now, how about some BLOG HOP CANDY???

For this hop, I'm giving away some great cardstock stickers and some colorful ribbon.  Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1. Become a follower and leave a comment letting me know. Or, let me know you're already a follower. Please don't forget to include your e-mail address.

That's all you have to do to have a chance to win! But, if you want an extra chance, here's what you can do:

2. For an extra entry, LIKE my Facebook page and leave another comment telling me you did so. You can click LIKE on my left sidebar or follow the link. Don't forget to leave your e-mail address in your comment.

That's it! :o) Please...only US mailing addresses. I'll leave this giveaway open all week, and then I'll randomly choose a winner on Friday, May 6.

Thank you for hopping along. Your next stop is Cherie at Graceful Cardmakers.

Here's the lineup of hop participants, just in case you get lost along the way. :o)

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #54: April Showers

Happy Challenge Me Monday!  This week's challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is called April Showers...create a project with an umbrella or hat on it.  I had so much fun figuring out what to do for this challenge.  Here's what I came up with:

This card measures 5 inches square.  The little skunk came from Birthday Bash, and the boots and umbrella came from Create a Critter.  I tried to pick background paper that looks like it's raining.  I used a scalloped punch to punch the green paper, added a sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Even More Punny-Licious stamp set, some ribbon, and lots of white pen.

I hope you'll head over to Fantabulous Cricut to see what the other design team members created and join in the challenge yourself.  I can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

To My Favorite Chick

You know that feeling when you make a card that you just love, that you keep going back to look at, that just makes you smile?  Have you ever had that feeling, or is it just my and my weirdness?  Anyway, I had that feeling today when I finished this cute little card:

I don't know what it is about it, but I just LOVE this little card!!!  I think I'm going to send it to my mom (she collects chickens).   I designed it on my Gypsy so I could get everything just the size I wanted.  The card  measures 5.5" x 5.5".  I got the sun and hills and the hen from Country Life, and I got the three little chicks from Simply Charmed.  I added a stamp from My Pink Stamper's Tweety-Hoo Puns, some chalk, and some stitching/highlighting lines, and it was all done!  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I hope you like it, too.

I'm entering this little card in the Tacky Tuesday's Challenge that is going on right now (we're supposed to use the chick from Simply Charmed).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you like what you see on my little blog, I'd love it if you'd become a follower.  Oh, and I love reading comments...they make me smile!  :o)  Have a wonderful day!!!

Luv Bug Card

Welcome!  Did you hear that I'm having a 100 follower giveaway?  To read all of the details, click here.

Today I have another card for you that I made with a couple of challenges in mind.  Paper Playtime is having a "use a cupid or a heart" challenge, and Creative Cutter Room is having a challenge called Love Bugs.  So, I made this card to enter in both challenges:

This is an A2 size card.  I got this little luv bug from the Birthday Bash and added some hearts from Create a Critter.  The paper is all from my scrap stash, and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Buggy-Punnies.  I added some ink (Tim Holtz Distress Ink...Barn Door), a couple of ribbons, some brads, and some buttons, and this simple little card was all done!  I hope you like it...thanks so much for stopping by!

Two More Challenges

Whew!  I've just been really productive today (well, in a crafty way).  First, I decided to join the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge over at Always Crafting.  This week's challenge is to create something with an elephant on it.  Here's what I came up with:

The little elephant came from the Paisley cartridge, and the card base and circles came from Wild Card.  I tied the bow at the top using the technique that Marianne posted on her blog, Paper or Fabric Crafter (thank goodness I found that post, because I've always been a terrible bow tier).  My bow isn't quite as pretty as hers, but I'm proud of it!  ;o)  The sentiment came from My Pink Stamper's Punnylicious stamp set (Get it?  Elephants...peaNUTS??? hehe).

Oh, I almost forgot to post my other card!  I also decided to join the For the Birds Challenge over at Getting Cricky.  So, here's the little card I created:

I decided to use this little toucan since I am sooooo tired of WINTER!!!  This little guy makes me think of tropical warmth...and I'd really love to escape to somewhere tropical right now!  I got everything from the Life is a Beach cartridge.  This isn't my favorite card, so I think I may see what else I can come up with for this challenge later this week (we're allowed to enter as many projects as we'd like).  Anyway...I hope you like my little cards!  :o)

Bananas 4 You!

My Pink Stamper is having her first blog hop.  I had a great time checking out all of the awesome projects her design team came up with.  The great thing about her blog hop is that we get to play along!  So, here's my submission:

Front of Card

 Inside

I designed this card with my Gypsy.  I got the stamp shaped background from Gypsy Wanderings and welded them together to create a card.  The backgrounds were also cut from Gypsy Wanderings, and the ric-rac border was cut from Give a Hoot.  The little monkey, heart balloon, and inside sentiment are all from Create a Critter.  And, of course, the bananas 4 you came from My Pink Stamper's Punnylicious stamp set.  I added some ribbon and stitching lines, and my card was all done.  I hope you like it!  :o)

No WAY...Hee, hee!!! & Winter and Winter Warmies Challenges

No way!  No way, no way, no WAY!!!!  My little froggy card made the top five at Fantabulous Cricut!  Hee, hee!!!  I can't believe it and I'm SOOOOOO excited!  Thank you guys at FCCB for the recognition...his really makes me smile!  Just thought I'd share.  :o)

Okay, so now that I have that out of my system, I've been working today on another one of Fantabulous Cricut's challenges...Winter Warmies.  For this challenge we are supposed to create using some sort of winter clothing/accessory on our project.  Well, when I saw this, I immediately thought of my froggy and decided to put some winter clothes on another animal (this was before I found out I made the top 5).  So, after lots of thinking and browsing through my little cartridge handbooks, I decided to dress up the Create a Critter giraffe.  I am also entering this in My Sheri Crafts' Winter challenge.  Here's what I came up with:

With the flash...

...without the flash (I can never decide which is better).

So, for this card, I used my Gypsy to add some winter clothing to my little giraffe.  I got the hat and scarves (she needed 3, of course!) from the Winter Frolic cartridge and the boots from the Paisley cartridge.  I did some trimming on the boots so they looked more like snow boots and not rain boots.  Then, I added some chalk, some ribbon, and a sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Winter Punnies stamp set, and she was all done!  I just love this card...the giraffe is so cute in her blowing scarves!  I hope you like it, too!  :o)

Flaunt It Friday Challenge: Hello Kitty Plane

So, I was hopping along on the Flaunt It Fridays Hello Kitty blog hop, when my youngest daughter decided to join me.  As soon as she saw the little Hello Kitty Plane projects, she said, "Ooooo!  Mommy, can you make me one of those?"  So, since she has a Hello Kitty birthday party coming up, I thought, "Well, now I know what to put on her card!"  She really loves bright colors, so I found the brightest colors I had.  I tried to tone the colors down a bit with the background, but I think it is plenty colorful for my little munchkin.  Here's her card:

The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Even More Punny-licious stamp set. On the inside I wrote: You are so precious to us!  Happy Birthday!

Now, I just need to find a good hiding place and keep my daughter away from my blog when I'm updating it.  :o)  Hope you like my Flaunt it Friday submission!

Throwback Thursday Challenge

I just having so much fun with all of these challenges.  They really do inspire me to fire up my Expression!  Emma over at My Creative Time is having a Throwback Thursday Challenge.  I just needed to pick an older cartridge and create something with that cartridge that contains a heart.  So, I made a little ladybug card.  Here it is:

I used Doodlecharms for the ladybug and the hearts.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Buggy Punnies stamp set.  I added some ribbon, stitching lines, and brads, and she was all done.  Hope you like her!

Thank You Cards

I'm trying to put together a stash of Thank You cards, so I've been working on those a lot lately.  Here are a couple that I just finished.the other day.  Both of them have already been sent out...so much for building up my stash.  I'll have to make some more...YAY!  Can't wait!

Both of these are from Create a Critter (BIG surprise there!), and the stamps are from My Pink Stamper.  I used my Gypsy for the first time to help me lay these out on my Cricut mat so I could cut all the pieces at once.  I can't wait to work on more projects with my Gypsy so I can take advantage of more of it's cool features.  Anyway...I hope you like them.  :o)

Snow and Snowy Delights Challenges

Fantabulous Cricut is having a Snowy Delights Challenge this week.  The challenge is to create a project and incorporate snow or snowflakes.  I'm also entering this in Momo's Snow Challenge.  Here's the card I came up with:

I used Create a Critter for the froggy, then I used my Gypsy to add a hat and scarf from Winter Frolic.  The snowflakes came from the Christmas cartridge.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Winter Punnies stamp set.  Frogs are my favorite animal, so I LOVE this little guy.  I hope you like him, too!  :o)

My First Challenge Entry

Well, I decided to try my hand at a challenge.  Paula over at More Than Favors has a Wacky Wednesday Color Challenge, and I thought I'd give it a try.  Here's what I came up with:

I used the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge (I LOVE that one) to make the whale and the cloud.  The scalloped waves are from Winter Frolic.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Even More Punny-licious stamp set.  I added some stitching lines, brads, ribbon, and little tiny seed beads, and viola!  I think he turned out so cute!  So, I hope you like him!  :o)
